The western style hotels range from standard, superior and deluxe, and are located in the areas that are suitable for your tour. A holiday to Japan is not complete without a stay in an authentic and traditional Japanese accommodation called a ryokan with a hot spring (onsen). Depending on your location, other authentic accommodation we can include are Minshuku (traditional guest house) and Shokubo (temple) lodging. We can accommodate solo travellers, couples and families alike, with the option to stay in standard, superior or deluxe accommodation. Group Tour Accommodation Most of our group tours are based on standard accommodation, a sample of which can be found on the individual tour pages. We select from a range of accommodation for our tours, the style of which can vary from one destination to the next. It is also worth noting that room sizes in Japan tend to be more compact, especially in the larger cities. Room upgrades can be requested at time of quotation. When staying in traditional Japanese ryokan, beds will usually be futon-style. Western Style Hotels A selection of standard, superior and deluxe hotels are offered with our tailor-made journeys. We provide western style hotels that are part of recognised hotel chains, boutique properties, with their own individual character, and comfortable smaller lodgings. These recommended properties will have an en-suite bath, provide western beds and have good links with public transport. Standard (equivalent 3*) Most of our tours are based on standard accommodation with the option to upgrade to Superior or Deluxe. Standard hotels, ideal for the leisure and business traveller, provide comfort with rooms being smaller than the superior and deluxe hotels.
