SOUNDPROOF GENSETGENERAL INFORMATIONA diesel generator consists of a diesel engine and an alternator coupled on a common skid base producing AC power.The generator and others electrical components are fully enclosed in a canopy originating the so called “soundproofgensets”.The FPT soundproof gensets are designed and produced for severalapplications covering a range from 30 to 420 kVA, ensuring low noiseand the internal soundproofing is encapsulated to ensure long termretention delivering lower cost of ownership.These robust and reliable FPT products can be personalized andequipped with dedicated accessories in order to be suitable for a widerange of application representing the ideal choice for user demanding,supplying power wherever energy has to be delivered rapidly andreliably.Soundproof groups may be used for: EMERGENCY / STAND-BY USE (black out conditions): for hospitals, hotels, malls, banks, factories etc. CONTINUOUS / PRIME POWER USE: for continuous or variable power application. SOUNDPROOF GENSET lift hooks External stop buttonMAIN FEATURES Automatic or manually operated control panelThe soundproof canopy is a self-supported structure in pressure Externalfolded and soldered galvanized steel.The structure is reinforced with fuel tankbrackets made of steel sheets. Before being accurately covered in filler captwo layers of epoxy resin, the canopy is subject to an anti-corrosivetreatment and lined with sound and fire proof panels. Soundproof Base frame Integratedseparating panels function as noise traps and thermal dividers, fuel tankchanneling cool air and avoiding its mixture with hot air.The cooling Forksystem is strengthened with particular procedures which permit the lift slotsgenset to function correctly. Doors are completely dust and waterproof and allow an easy access to the engine.The lifting hooks assure STANDARD VERSIONa balanced manoeuvrability of the genset in suspension. SOUNDPROOF GENSETMAIN FEATURES TRANSPORTABILITY The new design of FPT soundproof gensets has achieved significant improvement in terms of maneuverability.Thanks to dedicated slots in the lower part of the frame and lifting hooks on the top, it’s possible to transport the group either by forklift either using a crane. In rental version the single lift hook contributes to further increase handiness and safety transportation of the group. MAINTENANCE Low maintenance times and running costs are ensured by class-beating oil change interval of up to 600h. All day maintenance requirements can be easily performed thanks to wide doors giving full access to the engine and other components. FUEL TANK / REFUELING The fuel tank is built into the sub-base and it is equipped with two level indicators: the first one is visual type directly on the tank while the second one is electrical and info are displayed on the control panel. Refueling is externally performed: thanks to the fuel cap with key, it has been ensured an easy way to fill up the fuel tank without the need to open the main door. Furthermore, it is possible to refuel from an external fuel tank through by-pass fuel lines. NOISE / VIBRATION The FPT soundproof gensets, thanks to sound-absorbing fireproof panels, ensure low noise in order to reduce environmental impact.The sound level assured by FPT canopy is 70dbA @ 7 m, in line with market requirements. The generator is anchored to the base frame by special elastic expansion bolts which minimize vibration. Minimizing generator set vibration can both reduce the transfer of energy to building structures—that is, the dynamic loading of the building by the generator set—and lead to longer life for generator set components.fpt industrial product bulletin / soundproof genset 05
