Verb
What is the verb? Verbs are words that describe an action or talk about something that happens. They take many different forms depending on their subjects, the time they refer to and other ideas we want to express.
Classification of verbs
Transitive Verb - Intransitive Verb 1.Transitive Verb ( สกรรมกริยา) กริยาที่ต้องมีกรรมมา รองรับ เช่น eat,hit,clean,buy,cut,make etc. 2.Intransitive Verb ( อกรรมกริยา) กริยาท่ีไมต่ ้องมีกรรมมา รองรับ เช่น swim,stand,walk,sleep,fly etc.
Transitive Intransitive I eat noodles. I walk around the garden He stands on bridge. He buys a new car. She is sleeping. She hits her son. The door opened *Dang opended the door. the bell is ringing. The fire lit quickly *He is ringing the bell. I have lit the fire.
Principle verb - Auxiliary verb 1. Principle verb(กรยิ าหลกั ) กรยิ าทม่ี คี วามหมายหลกั ใน ประโยค เช่น walk, tell, sleep,sit,run,talk,swim,drive ect. I walk to school. You are a doctor. 2. Auxiliary verb (กริยาช่วยหรอื กรยิ านุเคราะห)์ กรยิ าทท่ี า หนา้ ทช่ี ่วยกริยาหลกั เพอ่ื ใหเ้ป็นมาลา ( Mood ) วาจก ( Voice ) และกาล ( Tense ) He was killed this morning. Auxiliary verb or helping verb
Modal auxiliary verbs have three main characteristics. 1) They are never used alone. 2) They do not change their form. 3) They do not have infinitive or participle forms.
