impact In 2017, Samaritas focused on improving our ratings in our skillednursing communities; deepening the depth and breadth of our employeetraining; improving our financial picture by increasing occupancy andmeeting budget targets; and improving our outcomes, such as reducingthe length of stay in foster care, in our rehabilitation centers and in ourshort-term skilled nursing communities.

home andcommunityOur Home and Community Campus comprises our Family Center whichprovides temporary housing, day care and medical care for homelessfamilies as well as the Wayne County temporary emergency foodassistance program.We own and/or manage multiple Affordable Living Communities, mostwith a service coordinator for high quality residential life, and all withexceptional community service partnerships and collaboration.The Samaritas Community Center in Saginaw provides after schoolathletic and tutoring programs for neighborhood children and meals forfamilies in the community.We provide At Home Services, which include support for Personswith Disabilities, home health, speech, physical and occupationalrehabilitation, and private duty home care, allowing individuals toremain in their own community and at home.For more than 50 years, we have helped women make the transitionfrom prison to society at our Samaritas House in Detroit.We manage 14 group Homes for Persons with Disabilities, located withinMichigan communities across the state.
