“Well, I should be allowed to have more than one friend!” Mira replies with an annoyed tone, “How could you??” Elle screams madly, “Do you know how long we’ve been friends for? It’s nearly been 3 years!” Elle says with tears in her eyes, “Things change Elle, i can’t just be your friend, and you can’t only be my friend too” Mira reluctantly responds. “Oh, i s-see how it is, y-you’re saying that we shouldn’t be friends anymore, is that what you’re implying?” Elle says while sniffling, “No!, that’s not what I said at all” Mira responds quickly, “F-forget it, i wish we never met” Elle once again screams “Goodbye, Mira.” Elle says while full on crying, Mira cannot comprehend what just happens, she’s at a loss for words. Elle then runs back to her classroom to go back home, but once she reaches her classroom, Melissa suddenly approaches her, “Hey, Elle... leave me alone” Elle madly says, “Jeez, what’s your problem?” Melissa says with a shocked face, “Just, leave me alone… please..” Elle says while holding back her anger, suddenly Elle hears a voice coming from the other way, “Elle.. please forgive me..” It was Mira, but Elle had no intention of talking to her, so she just storms off and goes home. Once she reaches home, she instantly goes to her room and locks her door, “Why does this happen to me..” Elle says while having crying loudly, she walks to her wardrobe to find 47
tissues, but she only finds a picture of her and Mira, she just got even more sadder. Tears fall on the picture, trying to hold back her emotions, she stares at the picture, memories start to fill her head, she can’t help to think, “Was I too controlling?” “Was I not the victim?” she begins to regret her choice. With Mira not being her friend anymore, she doesn’t have anymore friends, In a fit of anger and sadness she rips the picture I half, letting it fall along with her tears. MY FIRST FRIEND (Karya: Ikhlasul Amal) Flora, A girl who is a very athletic girl in her school is never noticed by anyone. The reason being is that she doesn't know how to communicate well. She has social anxiety which makes her nervous around people. But Flora has a goal which is to make at least one friend. One day a boy named Shun talks to her and says that he likes her. Flora doesn't know what to say because it is so sudden and in the end she didn't say anything. She immediately runs after 10 seconds of awkward staring. Shun who confessed to her in class was very embarrassed because he wasn't able to get a response. Flora, knowing that herself is very bad at communicating, thinks about the time where was able to talk to someone and she remembers that she was talking about sports. She remembers that she is able to speak to someone when it is about sports. She is thinking that maybe she can talk to everyone if it is about sports. She then tries to talk to another athletic girl about sports and she successfully speaked well, but then the girl brings up about the sports festival that is going to be held next week. Flora is very confused because she never heard any news about a sports festival happening, but she remembers that she slept while the teacher was explaining something. The other girl introduces herself and says her name is Amelia, then she challenges Flora to a speed contest at The 50
Marathon Competition. Flora accepts the challenge and so she practices for the competition. Three days before the competition, Flora fell sick because she practiced running for too long. Amelia decides to visit her because she was worried Flora couldn't be able to participate in the marathon. But she worried for nothing because Flora almost immediately started doing better after 1 day. Amelia is very excited for the marathon and Flora is too. The sports festival has started in Flora's school, the girl’s marathon is going to be held at 10 am. Flora and Amelia talked a bit before the marathon starts. Then at 10 am it start. There are 10 competitors and every one of them are athletic. Flora is nervous but she is confident that she can win the marathon. The marathon start, Flora and Amelia is in the front, leaving every other competitor in the back. Flora is ahead of Amelia by a bit but her Rival is keeping up. Flora starts to push herself so that she can go faster, but then she hears a sound, she looks back and sees that Amelia fell and she hurt her knee. Flora quickly went back to Amelia and helped her get up, she holds Amelia's hands and starts running with her to the finish again, she sees the finish then uses all her energy to get first. The other competitors almost caught up but Flora won the marathon. Amelia is very grateful that Flora helped her and she is very happy that she can get a very good friend. Flora is also very happy that she can finally have a friend. Shun, the person who confessed to Flora, comes up to her and congratulates her. 51
Flora apologizes because she couldn't give him an answer, but she says that she has an answer for him now. She says she wants to be friends with him first. Shun is satisfied with her answer and becomes her friend. -SELESAI- 52
