IURIS WINERY The Iuris Winery became well recognised private producer on the Croatian market. The philosophy of the winery is to offer top-quality wines for all those who value quality and suitable price. We have placed great importance on innovation and creation on the goals that lead in that direction. Innovation – to offer something new, unexpected, exciting and suitable to the times; creation – to give personal author’s signature and to use creative recognisability separating ourselves from a mass of good, but traditional wines that often lack originality and creative progress of their creators – wine makers. Our starting point is the Danube region in Croatia. However, our scope of activity is actually the entire area of Croatia, Dalmatia particularly. A man named Domagoj Klasiček stands behind the name of the Iuris Winery. He is a wine maker / enologist who perceived the limits and practices of the vineyard and wine-making skills as the starting point, as a challenge, as a curiosity to go further; to step into the unknown every now and then; to constantly question the tradition and interpret it in his own original, seductive and contemporarily popular way. Emphasis is on fruits as general characteristic of our wines. The accentuated mineral note and richness of aromas are the fundamental characteristics of wines from the Saltwater Series. White wines are full, mineral, balanced with a gorgeous elegance. Reds are frutiy, boddied and have a fantastic amplitude. Roses are fresh, delicate and mineral, with exotic hints. IURIS CLASSICS Pinot Grigio IURIS 0,75 Sivi pinot, sivi burgundac (Pinot Gris, Grauer Burgunder) are two names that appear at Croatian producers for this exceptional wine. The former is far more common, and we have decided to use the Italian name Pinot Grigio, as it is called in the province of Veneto, where the best Italian wines of this variety come from. The Italian name we have taken over suggests one of the two basic ways of vinification of Pinot Gris, the Italian one, of the lighter body in contrast to the fuller, stronger Alsatian. Our Pinot Grigio was obtained from the eponymous grape varieties harvested at the sites of the Danube basin, Ilok and Slavonska Požega. The wine is light, fruity and yet emphasized in flavor and aromas. On the nose apples and pears, with citrus notes. IURIS CLASSICS Chardonnay IURIS, 0,75 Pale, yellow-straw color, medium viscosity. Clean, clear. The nose at the beginning is a little bit closed, but varietal aromas are appearing gradually. Ripe juicy peach and pear, and slowly coming aromas of toast with a mild taste of butter. With emerging vanilla and coconut, skillfully woven into intense bouquet. Minimal dose of minerality on the palate shows semi-full body, pleasantly concentrated and creamy, very harmonious, balanced and not too long finish in which phenolics of new barrique are dominating. • Quality dry white wine • Variety: Chardonnay • ALC.: 12,5 % • Packaging: 6 bottles per box • Vintage: 2016 Tempera (Premium Cuvee) IURIS 0,75 Made with the best red grapes from sunny Dalmatia: cabernet sauvignon, merlot, vranac and plavac mali. Full bodied, ageable wine, one of the most popular winery reds for its complexity, and distinctive aromas. Defoliation of all varieties was carried out in the vineyards. Traditional method of maceration in old oak barrels of 500 liters. Merlot IURIS 0,75 Wine is mid-bodied with pronounced fruitiness, primarily plum jam sweetness Polished tannins are the result of a yearlong aging in 500 and 1200 l barrels made of oak. Intense terracotta red colour, nearly ruby red with crystal purity and clarity and medium viscosity. Red fruits dominate in the primary aroma, red currant and capsicum; tertiary aroma: herbs, sweet root with the delicate aroma of violet flowers. Medium intensity and good flavour concentration dominate on the palate; dry, layered flavours and soft, rounded texture; harmonious, whole and luscious; long- lasting aftertaste. • Quality dry red wine • Variety: Merlot • ALC.: 12,5 % • Packaging: 6 bottles per box • Vintage: 2015 Cabernet Sauvignon IURIS 0,75 Excellent wine in structure, balance, roundness of flavour, medium-bodied. Soft rounded tannins, long aftertaste. Complete defoliation of the grapevine, late vintage, traditional vinification in stainless steel tanks for a period of 19 days, aging in barrels made of French, Slavonian and American oak. • Quality dry red wine • Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon • ALC.: 12,5 % • Packaging: 6 bottles per box • Vintage: 2015 Pinot Noir IURIS 0,75 The Pinot Noir wine is a dry aged wine with impeccable balance and structure, and with a long velvety finish. Rich aromas of berries (blackberry, black currant), partially produced with carbon maceration have perfectly blended in with the recognizable earthy “feel“ of the background variety. Vintage of fully technologically ripe grapes, traditional style of vinification, 20% of ripe stems added for a period of 14 days. Aged in 500 l barrels made of Slavonian and American oak. IURIS SALTWATER Sauvignon Blanc Saltwater IURIS 0,75 Straw yellow color with a golden glow and exceptional clarity. The recognizable aroma of elder on the nose. Fragrances are emphasized, the aroma is very pronounced. The structure is well balanced. Medium-filled body, dry and aromatic, delicious and smooth. Durability and stability of aromatic experience in the end. The wine that is very clear, direct, highlighted aromatic and decent of the reputation of that varietiy. It goes well with dishes like fish, poultry, as well as pasta and risotto. Elegant, complex and intense wine, in perfect balance, with highlighted floral, violet, red fruits, blackberries and redcurrants, with green pepper and mint. Rounded tannins in its fruity – mineral structure, medium body with a long aftertaste. IURIS LIVE LOVE Muscat IURIS 0,75 Made from Yellow Muscat grape we have produced a wine of denominated Muscat flavor, intense aroma and taste of ripe grapes. Wine is semy- full bodied, very suitable for pairing with food due to extreme ratios of fruitiness and acidity. Excellent paired with white meat, cheeses, and fruit desserts. • Quality semi-sweet white wine • Variety: Muscat • ALC.: 13,0 % • Vintage: 2015 Gamay IURIS 0,75 Our winery has recently introduced the Gamay wine on the market. A wine that is young, fresh and light. Intense fruit aromas, semi sweet. A two-stage vintage. Grapes from the earlier vintage were macerated for a period of 24 hours, decanted and fermented in a stainless steel tank. IURIS ROSALIA Rosalia IURIS 0,75 Dry pink Cabernet Sauvignon, as a good refreshing summer wine. Dry and light in body, intense and concentrated fruit flavors of raspberry and wild strawberry and a pleasant freshness with crisp acidity. IURIS JENARO Plavac Mali Jenaro Vala IURIS 0,75 Plavac Mali comes from the island of Brač. We recommend decanting, followed by a pleasant surprise. Example of wine that will satisfy even the most experienced tasters. Finely tingling nostrils result of the volatility, not alcohol. Total 13.9% alcohol it is natural for Plavac Mali, as well as slightly elevated volatile acid. Plavac Jenaro opens shyly, without crowds and noise. Seductive. Maquis and herbality. Sea salt. Excellent balance between Sauvignon and Welschriesling, Sauvignon is more dominant on the palate, with a clearer Lightly oaked,expressed minerality, moderate acidity defined aromas.
