Alexander II 4th and 5th Grade Chorus: Large Group Performance Evaluation (LGPE) InformationWhat is LGPE?Each year, the Alex II 4th and 5th grade chorus is invited to LGPE, which is a chance to show what we’ve got and seewhere we need improvement in our vocal development as a group.There will be 3 judges, whose qualifications are their vast experiences in the elementary choral scene, having beenelementary music teachers themselves. These judges will rate our students on a scale of 1-5 (1 being the highesthonor) in 7 categories, making a grand total of 21 overall scores. Those scores are then averaged into a final score,which is the nearest whole number.How can my child participate in LGPE?Fill out the attached field trip permission slip (front and back) and have it returned by Friday, March 9th, and yourchild is ready to go! On the day of, our performance attire is a black T-shirt, khaki pants (or long khaki skirt), blacksocks, black shoes, and a black belt. We ask that jewelry be kept minimal; our students should be the only shiningthing on the stage! Please have your student in the music room at Alex II at 7:30AM that morning.Cool! When/Where is LGPE?Our performance date is Wednesday, March 14th @ 9:30AM at Highland Hills Baptist Church. We will have a smallrehearsal that morning to rehearse professionalism and entering and exiting the stage, then bus over to the church.Alright! Can I help in any way?YES YES YES YES YES!! We will need several chaperones that morning to assist with monitoring the students as wechange from location to location that morning. If you have your background check cleared with Alex II, you candefinitely be a chaperone! Without chaperones, WE CAN NOT GO!I can’t be a chaperone… does that mean I can’t watch?You can still go!
