CPORAUOLTFGRREREAASCMHHCALFRESH OUTREACH:The number of packets: 73,352 The number of our outreach project CalFresh packets mailed out in 2016. These special packets were mailed to families and adults who applied for Medi-Cal online but were not receiving CalFresh. Most families that qualify for the Medi-Cal program also meet eligibility criteria for CalFresh. These efforts resulted in the approval of over 4,053 CalFresh applications. That translates to families and adults who will be putting nutritious food on their tables with the help of CalFresh.Outreach at Northgate Market on 43rd St. Our efforts to reach more members of our community were evident with our first outreach visit to Northgate Market. Setting up our CalFresh table at this popular market created a great opportunity to share information with interested shoppers. Several shoppers (not pictured) stopped at our table to ask about CalFresh and pick up flyers. Although this was our first event at Northgate, it sure won’t be our last!
