In 2000s low self-esteem was judged the essence of personal and societal problems. By 2010, this blindness was disrupted by evidence that self-esteem raising programmes had failed to improve mental health or social mobility. Alternative methods based on improving an individual’s self-regulation of Steering Cognition have been engineered and piloted from 2003 onwards. These applications aim to build self-worth through personal agency and responsibility. We are seeking commissions to scale these technologies in countries who wish to invest in the wellbeing of their young people.
