Let the Whole Creation Cry March 3, 2019 I A Festival of Hymns Cathedral Series MODERN COURAGE INSPIRED BY TIMELESS WISDOM Prelude Marc-Antoine Charpentier / arr. Brian Pfoltner Prelude to the Te Deum Call to Worship Hymn (Please rise in body or spirit and join in singing.) SALZBURG / arr. Jeremy Bankson Let the Whole Creation Cry stanza 1: all in harmony; stanza 2: all in unison

Gathering Prayer (Please remain standing.) Good God, Creator of the world, draw us into prayer and celebration as we gather to remember the gifts of your earth and the stewardship you have entrusted to us as tillers and tenders in your image. We know that in the gathering of the people, power is present among us; your Holy Spirit stirs and moves and gives us courage to remember that all good gifts come first from you. Keep us faithful to this gathering in faith and “bless this vine your right hand has planted.” Now and forever, Amen. (Please be seated.) Welcome Anthem Dan Forrest The Music of Living Giver of life, Creator of all that is lovely, teach me to sing the words to your song. I want to feel the music of living; and not fear the sad songs but from them make new songs, composed of both laughter and tears. Giver of life, Creator of all that is lovely, teach me to dance to the sounds of your world. I want to move in rhythm with your plan. Help me to follow your leading; to risk even falling, to rise and keep trying. For you are leading the dance. Giver of life, Creator of all that is lovely, Teach me to sing the words to your song. Offertory Anthem (Please be seated.) O STORE GUD / arr. Eric Nelson How Great Thou Art O Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder consider all the worlds thy hands have made, I see the stars, I hear the rolling thunder, thy pow’r throughout the universe displayed: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great Thou art! When through the woods and forest glades I wander and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees, When I look down from lofty mountain grandeur and hear the brook and feel the gentle breeze: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great Thou art! And when I think that God, his Son not sparing sent him to die, I scarce can take it in; That on the cross, my burden gladly bearing, he bled and died to take away my sin: Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great Thou art! When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart! Then I shall bow in humble adoration, and there proclaim, “My God, how great thou art.” Then sings my soul, my Savior God, to thee: How great Thou art!
