OBITUARY OF L.C. GRIFFIN On August 18, 1937 a baby boy was born to the proud parents of Addie Lee and Lewis Griffin. This child was the fourth of eight children, and together they named him L.C. Griffin. On Friday, July 22, 2022, at 4:15 a.m. L.C. accepted his wings and took his rest. L.C. accepted Christ at an early age. He was a faithful servant of the Lord and found his calling as a gospel singer along with three of his brothers. Upon his death, he was a member of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, in Los Angeles, CA. L.C. was raised in Selma, Alabama where he attended the Alabama school system. At the age of 17 L.C. left Selma and moved to Birmingham, Alabama seeking employment. It was there he met and married Juliette who preceded him in death. L.C. later went to Cincinnati, Ohio then back to Alabama. Still wanting to leave The South L.C., a friend headed west where he found employment with Goodyear and later Pan American Airlines where he retired. However, he couldn't stay still and on occasion would work selling watermelons and Christmas trees at the Normandie & Gage stand. He is preceded in death by his parents Addie Lee and Lewis Griffin, Sr. His son Jeffrey Allen Griffin, twin daughters Sherry and Sherrelle Griffin, one sister Mariah Griffin, and four brothers Ned, Dan, Lewis, Jr., and Albert Wayne Griffin. In Loving Memory of My Husband Thank you for your endless love That helps me through each day, And thank you for the memories that Never Fade Away. You're the man I loved And I was proud to be your wife, And every day, in some small way I’ll celebrate your life. And though it's sad to think about The way things were before, When we're reunited It will be forevermore. Your wife, Pat
You can shed tears that he is gone or smile because he has lived. You can close your eyes and pray that he'll come back, or you can open your eyes and see all he's left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him, or you can be full of the love you shared. You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him only that he is gone, or you can cherish his memory and let it live on. You can cry, close your mind, be empty, and turn your back. Or you can do what he'd want: Smile, open your eyes, love, and go on.
