Margorie Mae (Margie), was born January 21, 1942, in Littlefield, Texas; to the loving union of Himmer Lee Henry Sr. and Ella Mae Henry. Margie was one of two children born in this union. Margie’s parents divorced, and her mom relocated her and her younger brother, Himmer Jr. (H.L.) to San Diego, California. At the precious age of seven, Margie accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her personal Savior. Margie loved church and she loved to sing. Margie joined the Sunshine Band choir, so that she could sing and give praises to the Lord. While living in San Diego, California, Margie’s mother met a member of the United States Army named Hallow Wilson, they later married and to this union Margie was blessed with five other siblings, twins Hallow, Jr. and Harlon, Ella Jean, Kenneth Ray, and James Michael Jr. (Chip). While living in San Diego, Margie attended Saint Charles Borrow Academy Catholic School. In 1953, the family moved to Compton, California where Margie attended, Ardella B. Tibby Elementary School and Enterprise Middle School. Shortly after Middle School, her father Hallow received orders from the United States Army, taking the family to Oahu, Hawaii, where she graduated from, Arthur W. Radford High School. Margie and her family attended New Era Community Church in Oahu, Hawaii, were she was a member of the choir and taught Sunday school. In 1962, her father Hallow received orders from the United States Army sending the family back to Compton, California, where she and her family attended, Carver Foursquare Gospel Church under the leadership of Dr. Curtis and Alma Hammond, following her passion and her love for the Lord, Margie taught Sunday school and joined the choir, shortly after moving back to Compton she attended Compton Community College. In Margie’s spare time outside of church, she loved to roller-skate. One night while Margie, her cousins and her siblings were on a family outing at the Hollywood Skating Rink, Margie met Martinez C. Scorza, Jr. and from that union, Margie and Martinez had their beautiful daughter La Shun Marquet Scorza. In 1965, Margie met James L Bowen Jr. and the two were married. To this union they had three sons, Landon Dion, Shannon Davon, and Keith Andre. Shortly after, the family moved to Stillwater, Oklahoma. In the mid 70’s, the family relocated to Pomona, California, where Margie and her family joined New Gethsemane COGIC in Pomona, California, under the leadership of the late

  Leamond and Irene Penn and Bishop Raymond and Anita Watts. Margie proudly served on the usher board and was a junior high and high school, Sunday school teacher, she also sang in the adult choir. Margie worked for the County of Los Angeles for 25 years before she retired and she also, held a part time job, as a Pomona Unified School District police dispatcher for 15 years, doing what she did so well, helping others. In 1992, with the love of the Lord in her heart, Margie made the decision to go and support the ministry of her nephew, Pastor and Apostle E.D. Solomon at King Solomon Ministries in Compton, California. In 2016, Margie became a member of Faith Prayer Assembly COGIC, in Los Angeles, California, under the leadership of, Pastor Rudolph Leonard Jr., were she was lovingly known as, Missionary Bowen, until June 25th, 2022, when God whispered in her ear and saw her name, “Margie Mae Bowen” written in the Book of Life and presented her with a Golden Crown. Margie Mae was proceeded in death by her parents, Himmer and Maxine Henry Sr., Hallow and Ella Mae Wilson, eight siblings Hallow Jr. and Harlon, Kenneth, Himmer Jr, Edna, Darryl, James Sr. (Chip), and Ella. Margie leaves to cherish, her daughter La Shun Scorza, three (3) sons, Landon Bowen Sr., Shannon Bowen Sr., Keith Bowen Sr. and Gregory Shelton, her brothers Phillip Henry, Gregory Stell (Renee Stell), Kim Stell: Three (3) sisters-in-law, Faye Henry, Patricia Wilson, and Tammy Henry. Her Thirteen (13) grandchildren Allen Sarpy Jr., Marcus Crumity, Sha Quice Bowen, Keith Bowen Jr., Amber Crumity, Shantel Bowen, Landon Bowen Jr., La Vandre Bowen, Shannon Bowen Jr., Andrea Bowen, Loren Bowen, Jesse James (J.J.) Bowen, and Jayme Bowen. Eleven (11) great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. Margie and her contagious smile, compassionate heart, her loving spirit, beautiful and witty personality, her wisdom, kindness and her unconditional love for her children, grandchildren, family and friends, will be truly missed. Her memory will always be a part of everyone that she met. She knew no strangers, and most importantly, Margie Loved the Lord!

Christmas time was the best... good food, laughter, joy and most of all, the Love that she gave. Aunt Margie & I spoke daily. I will miss that the most. God was ready for his angel to come home, she will always be in our hearts. Thank you God for giving us our Aunt Margie much love. The Graham Girls.

I've been so Honored and Blessed and I will cherish this  part of life that I have had with you, Granmom. The love  that you shared with us and your love of God will forever  run through my spirit and forever live on through your  family. Thank you for being loving and suppor ve; a friend  and grandmother. Love you Always and forever!!!!
