Angella Copprue was born on June 30, 1937, in Sunflower, Mississippi to the late Elder TB Copprue and Mary Copprue. She was the eighth child out of twelve siblings. Angella received her education at Hunter School in Drew, Mississippi. On December 19, 1955, she married James Oliver Womack Sr. and from this union, two sons and one daughter was born. James Oliver Womack Jr. who preceded her in death, George Lee Womack, and Ann Denise Womack. In 1961, James, Angella, and their children relocated to Los Angeles, California. But their relationship ended. Angella then met Leon Williams and they got married on September 28, 1968. She was happily married to Leon for forty-three years until the Lord received him home. During this time, Leon and Angella both acquired positions at Van de Kamp Bakery. Angella was a cake decorator at Van de Kamp Bakery for twenty-three years. Angella was the strong pillar of her family. She was dearly loved and was affectionately known to many as \"Nana\", “Madea,” and “Momma.” She was truly looked upon as a woman who loved the Lord. She never wanted to hurt or offend anyone. If she thought she had hurt anyone, she would quickly say, “Please forgive me because I want to see the Lord in peace.” Angella enjoyed gardening and growing fruit trees. However, her most favorite hobby was fishing. She taught all her grandchildren how to fish and anybody else who wanted to learn. Angella was also an excellent cook. Her children and grandchildren loved her homemade peach cobbler and many other dishes that she prepared. Angella was a seamstress as well which allowed her to be very creative with her hands. She loved working in the church. She worked in various departments and held a variety of positions in the church, such as, praise and worship leader, choir director in the senior choir, president of the sanctuary choir, vice president of the women’s department, church treasurer, and she was also a member of the board of trustees. She also enjoyed singing. One of her favorite songs was \"Learning to Lean on Jesus.\" Angella loved hearing and studying the Word of God. In the past few years, she attended church as often as she could and continued to pay her tithes and offerings through mail even when she could not attend in person. Oftentimes, she attended Sunday School and Prayer and Bible Band on Tuesdays by telephone. Angella leaves to cherish her memories and to celebrate her life; her son George Lee Womack, daughter Ann Denise Walker and son in love Maurice Walker. My Nana was an amazing godmother. I was told by my mom that she chose me to be her godchild and that I was truly blessed, and should never take it for granted. I didn't understand as a child what my mother was conveying to me but, as I got older, I realized that I was truly blessed to have her. My nana was out spoken, a true saint, and never gave up on what God could do. She loved her family and treated me like I was her own. I will always think and speak about her. I will never forget her, and I will hold the memories close to my heart, and there she will remain. This is not goodbye; we will meet again Nana. If you have experience and Angela William as a godmother, you do not know what true love is. ~ Demetria Greenwood To my favorite girl, My heart is so broken that I won’t have my Nana to experience anymore of my life’s biggest moments. But I’m grateful that you experienced 27 years of them. Nana I’m going to miss seeing your smiling face, warm hugs, giving you some “suga”, and our Starbucks dates. Thank you for raising me, loving me, and caring for me. This is not a goodbye but definitely I will see you later. I love you so much. - Your Favorite girl, Chloe ~ Your granddaughter, Shameka Sanford Your Son, George Lee Womack
