As a child, Richard was baptized at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Los Angeles, California. He attended St. Michael's Elementary School and graduated from Serra High School, where he played Football and Basketball. Richard was well known for protecting his brothers and sisters in the neighborhood and prided himself on a killer three-point shot. In 1984, Richard married Janet Jenkins and the two were married for 23 years; of this union Porsha Lauren, Richard Lee III, and Ryan Ishon were born. Richard was also the proud father of Eric Michael. In 2011, Richard remarried to Claudia \"Rosa\" Menjivar, who he lived with in Los Angeles along with his eldest son Eric Michael McCorkle. He took great pride in his accomplishments and was a voice for his co-workers. He loved spending time with his kids and enjoyed taking them on fishing trips and long bike rides. He loved to go camping in Yosemite with his family and watching Patriot football games with his signature Yankee baseball hat on. Richard loved to laugh and could be overheard telling jokes with his sons and passionately debating with Porsha. He was known for his generosity and cared about the community and would do anything for anyone. He considered himself a very spiritual person and had a close relationship with God. Richard loved his son -in-law Nick as a fourth son and the two were twin heart Yankee fans. Richard was an amazing grandfather to Zoe, Sarai, Issiah, Dev, and Noa who he affectionately loved and spent a lot of time playing with. Dear Son, You will be missed dearly. You were my best friend and I appreciate all that you did for me. When your dad passed you stepped in and became my biggest protector, and I will never be able to replace you. I know you are in Heaven with our Lord, please keep sending SONshine my way. -Mom My love Richard, thank you for all the years we shared together. You were such a blessing to me, you were my soul mate, and you were a great father, son, and husband. I’m going to miss you for the rest of my life. Thank you for all the things you did for me. I love you so much. -Rosa Dad I Love you. I’m going to miss you. I will see you soon. -Eric Daddy, thank you for being such a hard worker and always encouraging me to do the right thing. I always aspired to make you proud and show you that none of your hard work or sacrifices were lost on me. I am having a hard time accepting that you are gone but we fought until the end together, hand in hand. I know you will be watching over me and protecting me. I love you Daddy. -Porsha Dad, I love you and will never forget all the time we spent together and everything you ever taught me. My heart is broken but I promise to make you proud. Rest in Peace King. -Ricky Dad, as the youngest child, I felt like your cub. You taught me how to fish in the stream and how to save and earn an honest dollar. We may not have had the best relationship, but I promise to have a better relationship with my sons. The world took you away from me too soon, I feel lost and confused without you in my life. I pray we can fill the giant shoes you were for this family with your knowledge, love, and persistence. You were a real royal in my eyes Daddy. I love you. -Ryan Hey Father in Love, I want to thank you for always treating me not as a son-in-law but as a son. Thank you for all of the lessons and guidance on how to be a better man, but mostly thank you for being an example of how to protect and provide for all of the people in your circle. Don't worry I will take care of your girls and everyone else just like you showed me. -Nick I miss you grandpa and I love you. I remember all of the funny times with you. You always thought of me and Noa. Rest in Peace Grandpa. I love you. -Zoe Grandpa I just want you to know that I love you. I really wish I could see you but I know you're in a better place now. -Sarai Grandpa I love you. I hope you feel good in heaven. Be safe and protect others now, even me. Have a good time up there. -Issiah

Grandpa Richard, sorry that you passed away in heaven. I hope you have a good life there and I hope you feel good now. I love you. -Dev I love you Grandpa. I miss you. You are so funny. I wish I could give you a hug. I’m sorry. I wish you could come back. -Noa Richard, I am going to miss you deeply. There was so much pain when it was time to let you go, it breaks my heart to lose you so soon, but know you didn't go alone, because part of me went with you the moment God took you home. I know we'll meet again someday, and I thank God he made you my brother. Love you brother, more than time could ever tell. -Sandra Rest in Peace Big Brother. Thank you for having my back as we were growing up. You were someone I looked to for advice. I appreciate all you did for me and the love and support you showed for my sons. -Paul Growing up you were more of a father figure to me than a brother, and always showed me how to be a better man like how to protect myself and how to navigate life. I will always remember your love for cars and music, which you didn't focus on anymore after you had your kids. I respected that. You showed me a lot of love and respect and I will miss you. -Gregory He was a child of God, he was a grandfather and father, uncle, son, brother, cousin, husband, and a good man. Thank you God for opening up the gates of heaven for my brother Richard. Richard, I know you are up there singing and dancing and feeling happy. I will miss you and I love you. -Linda To \"Twichard\", because I couldn't say Richard when I was a little girl. You were always our protector and would make sure all of us were safe from harm no matter what. Thank you for being such a beautiful brother, uncle, and companion to mom that no one else could ever be. Protect us from above just as you did here, and I will see you again. I will always love and miss you. -Teresa Richard, lots of years...lots of memories...three amazing kids… and five beautiful grandchildren. We learned a lot from each other, what a journey. You will be missed. -Janet
