The one year stay in RVRC is definitely well spent, especially when I was able to enjoy the experience of living on campus, and was fortunate enough to meet really lovely people from different facilities during my time in college, and forged close friendships with them :) Hopefully all of us will keep in touch with each other! :) - JingxiFor the first semester in NUS (and RVRC), I was reclusive due to the cultural shock upontransitioning into University. However, things changed as time progressed, and I’m reallythankful to have great neighbours-turned-friends. Through these 2 semesters in RVRC, Ihave made more friends who have made a difference in my life and my university life hasbeen a lot more fun and unique. - Lijun

This one year in RVRC has been a wonderful time for me. Stepping intoUniversity as a freshman, amidst all the excitement, one cannot help butfeel apprehensive in a new environment. RVRC has eased me into universitylife where I met fellow freshmen who faced the same situation. I wasable to forge new and lasting friendships, learn new and skills thatprepared me better for the future and simply have fun singing in myinterest group. It’s a place that holds precious memories I won’t forget. -Joanne

Being part of RVRC community has really helped megrow and learn. I am very thankful for thefriendships forged and people I have interacted withthroughout this year. Additionally, the academicprogram in RVRC has definitely opened my eyes tothe pressing issues of sustainability and taught mevaluable life skills. Overall, it was an enriching yearand I am really grateful for this unique experience.- Yijun

Letters from them to you...

\"Hi everyone! I'm really glad to be part of this first batch in RVRC. One of the biggest things I am really proud of is to see many of you guys stepping out to attempt new things without fear of failure, such as the performance at Starbucks and the small initiatives across RVRC. I hope all of us would be able to continue this spirit of venturing out and realize that ultimately, it is not what you can accomplish by the world's standard but who you grow to become in the process that truly matters! It's been a privilege walking with all of you :) \"LIM BOON PIN “This one year has been a great experience for me, and hopefully all of you as well! Always remember: keep curious, keep passionate, and you will go far. RVRC is just a starting point. Now is not the end, but the beginning of something new :)” Li Chenyi “Living in RVRC always reminds me of the freshman years of mine (which was pretty long ago), it reminds me the spirit of courage, happiness, curiosity and stubbornness I had in those years. Looking back, the passed time, missing dreams, or even close friends are gone, but the spirit we developed and memories we created together would forever be there. I believe, that is the truth of youth. Thanks so much, for everything, we created here in RVRC. Best wishes~”Kevin Ling Ran

“What matters is not overcoming the challenges, but what we learnt from overcoming the challenges.”Zhu Liang\"Consult not your fears but your hopes and your dreams. Think not about yourfrustrations, but about your unfulfilled potential. Concern yourself not with what youtried and failed in, but with what it is still possible for you to do. - Pope John XXIIIAbove all, stay true to yourself because it will guide you to make the right choices inlife. :)\" Yuheng “Life is not easy for a NUS student. Don't forget to have fun and bring laughter to your friends. Be clear of what you want to get out of your University life. Find your passion. Crash lectures. Talk to random people. Do something crazy. May you have a fulfilling and enjoyable journey!”Wang Wei

\"One year passes so fast. There will be many more years in university waiting for us. Hope everyone can go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live in the life you have imagined\" Xue Guangji\"University life is what you make it to be. It is the stage for many life-changing decisions.Enjoy it, but also make full use of it; such an experience will not come easily again.\" Geneve Teo “I always believe life in college is the most adventurous part of my whole journey. So live life to the fullest for these four years. Try as much as you can because you still have the opportunity to make it up for your mistakes in life. You can achieve a lot in just four years, but these are the most important ones to me: find your interest, know how to learn effectively in your own way and learn how to be a good person (teammate, brother, boyfriend and etc.)”Guo Yi Gary

“Don't aim for first class honors and graduate with no life. Aim for second upper with meaningful friendship and connection because no man is an island. Try new things, apply for funding, seek help when necessary. It is alright to lag behind sometimes, but it becomes a problem when you don't even know you are lagging behind.”Thitipat Chansriniyom “Life isn’t about finding yourself. Life is about creating yourself. - George Bernard Shaw May you forge your own path and be the best that you can be!” Claire Phee “If I may steal a quote : \"When your university life flashes before your eyes, make sure you've got plenty to watch\". Go for exchange, join a new club, take electives that you've always wanted to try out. Four years in NUS is not just about getting that degree!”Chen Minqi

Jeth Chng \"My year in RVRC was definitely the icing on the cake. I stayed in school for the first time,Ganank Srivastava learnt so much about sustainability and made so many new friends. My university life would not have been complete without this college experience. It might be the end of this unique RVRC lifestyle for some of us, but it also marks the beginning of a new journey for all of us. Regardless of whether we are student, peer mentor or admin staff, all of us will look back to this one year with a smile and be more sensitive towards our lifestyle habits. To my graduating students: Dare to dream and have a fulfilling time in NUS! Go for your exchange, summer program, Youth Expedition Projects, NUS Overseas College... don't be afraid to seek yourself and discover a world beyond the tiny oyster we all live in. Last but not least, do Service Learning! Learn from new experiences, and be passionate towards helping or educating others! Live life to the fullest, and never regret each day you live! Adios!\" “Batch of 2015! Its been a year since you walked through the doors of RVRC as aspiring and determined freshmen. I am sure the last one year has been a pleasant journey for you and the experience has really changed your perspective of the dynamic world that you have set your sights to conquer. Whilst my stay at RVRC, I did get the chance to interact with many of you, mostly through my duties at the GEM1917 module. During this time I was highly impressed by your team working capability, collaboration techniques and ideation skills. Keep at it! The change in your personality, especially in these fronts have clearly been positive and are moving in the right direction. If there is one advice I want to give all of you is thatit would be - “Never say no to new opportunities, especially those that test your creativity and challenge your ability. Lead, Communicate and Inspire” . Good Luck!
