RUIHSS POONCH LEISURE FRIENDLY GROWTH WORKS 2023-24 CLASS: 6TH ENGLISH 1. Make a short list of things you find difficult to do. eg:- (1 ) doing a somersault (2) threading a needle. (One day one) 2. Collect photographs of four personalities (eg:- mother Teresa) two men and two women, who have done something for the suffering people. Paste their photos on your note book and write a brief biography note. 3. Make a travelogue about your school picnic which one you mostly enjoyed in your school picnics. 4. Select any one story and read carefully then write on your notebook as cursive writing style. 5. Read five Urdu short stories then translate into English language and write on your notebook. 6. Search 50 auxiliary verbs and prepare a list of auxiliary verbs and examples for each one.

Every day she walks both ways. Find the total distance covered by her in 6 days? If her walking speed is 5Km/Hour, then find the time taken by her in one day? What are the advantages of walking? 4. SST 1. Find out how the historians reconstructed the past. Make a list of the sources that the historians depend to study the past. 2. You are a news channel reporter. You have just been asked to interview a team of archaeologists who have worked at Burzahom. Prepare five questions you will ask them. 3. Name any two artificial satellites and their functions other than mentioned in your textbook. 4. Draw the picture of our solar system and label its names. 5. Why do you think our Earth is unique in the solar system? How did it become Home for us? Write a detailed note about it. 6. Should we keep the water clean? Should we save our environment from getting polluted? a. Make a poster to spread awareness b. Write a short essay regarding this topic. 7. Which kind of work is done by the most number of people? What do you think is the reason for this? 8. Why do you think that work in villages is different from work in cities? 9. Watch a video of how clay pots are made, in YouTube. Write a detailed note on who makes these clay pots, how they make it and for what these pots are used for.

SCIENCE 1. What are the ways we can think of to avoid wastage of food? 2. Make a list (with pictures) of food items generally taken by people of different regions of India. Place these on a large outline map of India to display in your classroom. 3. Prepare a diet chart to provide balanced diet to a twelve year old child. The diet should include food items which are not expensive and are commonly available in your area. 4. Suppose you are the school head boy/head girl. Now write a notice for the students urging them not to eat fast food. 5. Collect different kinds of seeds and paste them on a chart paper. Then briefly write their usage and characteristics on your notebook. EXPERIMENT Let us observe the different stages of seed germination. THINGS REQUIRED: a few seeds of gram (you may use seeds of peas, wheat or paddy), five small pots filled with soil, water and a magnifying glass. METHOD: 1. Label the pots A, B, C, D and E. 2. Place five seeds in the soil in Pot A. Water this pot regularly. Note down the date. 3. After a week, repeat the above with Pot B. 4. Next week, do the same with Pot C, the subsequent week with Pot D and finally Pot E. 5. Make sure that the seeds do not dry up or get more water than necessary. After five weeks of start your experiment, observe the seedlings in various stages of development. You may the magnifying glass. Record your observation in your notebook. You may draw the various stages of development you observed or you may shoot pictures and save them in your mobile phone or tablet. Plant the seedlings in a nearby garden or park and watch them grow.
