DAVID BOHNETT CYBERCENTER In 2003, Compass opened the first gay and lesbian cyber center in Florida with the help of the David Bohnett Foundation. The cyber center features 12 Apple iMac computers and is open to the community during center hours.

Health SERVICES In 1994, Compass expanded its services to include Case Management services for people living with HIV and AIDS. The Ryan White program assists clients in navigating the Palm Beach County care system. MEDICAL/NON-MEDICAL CASE MANAGEMENT Each year Compass provides life-saving services to more than 450 people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA). Over 85% of our clients have achieved their health goals and maintain viral suppression. Clients may be eligible to receive the following services:  Non-Medical Case Management  Medical Case Management  Ryan White Health Insurance Assistance  Mental Health Counseling  Linkage to AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP), oral health care, food services, medical transportation services, legal services, vision care, and other supportive services Services are available by appointment in English, Spanish, and Creole. COMMUNITY EDUCATION SERIES To engage the community and raise awareness of medical advances, resources, and health issues, the Health Services Department hosts periodic educational evenings. Mental Health SERVICES THE COMPASS MENTAL HEALTH COLLABORATIVE Join the Compass PBC Mental Health LGBTQ+ Collaborative as we explore and discuss present concerns and issues related to mental health and LGBTQ+ patients including but not limited to transgender, non-conforming, transitioning, pronoun usage, polyamory and so much more. Compass' PBC Mental Health LGBTQ+ Collaborative will be held the 1st Friday of each month from 10am-12pm at Compass Community Center in Lake Worth. YOUTH SUICIDE PREVENTION Lesbian, gay, and bisexual youth are almost five times as likely to have attempted suicide compared to heterosexual youth. In a national study, 40% of transgender adults reported having made a suicide attempt. 92% of these individuals reported having attempted suicide before the age of 25. Suicide is the second leading cause of death among young people ages 10 to 24. The Trevor Project is the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and questioning LGBTQ young people ages 13-24. HIV PREVENTION Compass Community Center started as the Stop AIDS Project in 1988 and has always maintained a strong focus on HIV prevention. This includes free on-site HIV testing, counseling, linkage to care, community outreach, education, and access to free condoms. OUTREACH TO THE COMMUNITY To make the difference we are committed to, Compass tries to meet our community in spaces that are convenient to them. HIV testing is offered every year at Palm Beach Pride. PROMISE STORIES Peers Reaching Out and Modeling Intervention Strategies (PROMISE) for high-impact prevention (HIP) is a community-level HIV/STD prevention intervention that relies on role model stories and peer advocates to reduce risks of contracting HIV/STDs and engage people living with HIV into Treatment, Care, and Viral Suppression. THE SMART RIDE Compass is proud to be a benefiting agency of The SMART Ride, which has raised over $11.8 million to benefit Florida AIDS Service organizations. The 2-Day, 165-Mile Ride from Miami to Key West, is the second largest AIDS bicycle ride in the country and the only one of its size to give 100% of raised monies back to the community. Youth PROGRAMS LGBTQA SOCIAL-SUPPORT YOUTH GROUP Youth ages 12-18  Meets Wednesdays, 5-7 p.m., Youth Drop-in Center LGBTQ youth group for social support, sexual health education, and empowerment programming in a safe and judgment-free environment. (561) 533-9699 or [email protected] LGBTQA YOUTH MENTOR PROGRAM Youth ages 12-18 LGBTQ youth meet with trusted adult mentors and role models from the LGBTQ and ally community for support, education, academic assistance, job readiness, leadership development, and fun. TRANSGENDER YOUTH SUPPORT GROUP Youth ages 12-18 Meets Fridays, 5-7 p.m. Transgender, gender variant, and non-binary youth group for support related to gender identity, transition, stigma, isolation, discrimination, resources and sexual health. Individuals should attend the LGBTQ Youth Group at least three times before coming to this group. (561) 533-9699 or [email protected] EQUALITY PROM Friday, May 22, 2020, 6-10 p.m. The Equality Prom is an inclusive dance for LGBTQ high school students to celebrate and honor their diversity. Youth are able to dress in whatever gender they self-identify and dance with whomever they like. Equality Prom is free to attend, which is made possible by fundraising efforts of the Youth Prom Committee and generous donations from the community. LEGACY PROJECT Compass has partnered with Palm Beach Dramaworks for a major collaboration. The Legacy Project is an intergenerational story telling project in which LGBTQ leaders and trailblazers were interviewed by LGBTQ Youth. The Legacy Project is presented on a night in the autumn at Palm Beach Dramaworks and features a mix of live performance and digital stories projected to the audience. DRAG STORY TIME Drag Story Time spreads messages of acceptance, tolerance and individuality. It is family friendly and features local drag queens who read children’s books to an audience, answer questions and perform at the end of the evening. Check the website and social media for times and location. LAVENDER GRADUATION This annual graduation ceremony honors Compass youth group members' scholastic and community accomplishments. THE ALL TEA, NO SHADE THERAPY GROUP This group is supports youth between 13-18 years old who could benefit from talking to their peers in a facilitated setting led by licensed therapists. Individual, short term therapy is also available. AUTHENTICALLY YOUTH A social support group for transgender children ages 3-11 and their families. Meets the first Saturday of the month from 10:00-11:30am.

Support GROUPS Compass is committed to providing value to the community it serves. We provide a number of center hosted and peer-lead support groups at the center. FTM GENDER SUPPORT GROUP This social and support group focuses on the needs of the FTM (female to male) transgender community. BEREAVEMENT GROUP The loss of a loved one is a sorrowful event. The grieving process is natural, but it can be difficult to work through on your own. Compass provides a bereavement support group specifically for members of the LGBTQ community who have lost their significant other. NON-BINARY SUPPORT GROUP Support group for non-binary, gender non-conforming, or questioning individuals engaging in various topics of discussion. Genderqueer, also termed non-binary, is a catch-all category for gender identities that are not exclusively masculine or feminine identities, which are outside the gender binary and cisnormativity. YOUNG ADULT TRANS & NON-BINARY SOCIAL-SUPPORT GROUP Ages 18-29  Meets 1st and 3rd Friday each month 6-7 p.m. The Young Adult Trans & Non-Binary group meets to discuss a variety of topics including healthy relationships, legal issues, sex education, gender identity, job readiness, and family. Pride BUSINESS ALLIANCE For those looking to network with LGBTQ-owned and LGBTQ-supportive businesses, and/or market their business to the LGBTQ community, check out the Pride Business Alliance. The Alliance is the largest LGBTQ networking group in Palm Beach County, with more than 1,000 annual attendees at its business socials. NETWORK Staff coordinate monthly business networking socials which members of Compass or the Pride Business Alliance may attend for free (non-members are asked to pay $20). These events generally draw 85-125 attendees, and are held at a different member locations each month.
