Note to Parents: Every child is special and different and they have their own unique ways to learn and adapt. e most exciting and challenging phase in your child’s life is the transition from infant to toddler stage and one of the key milestone for most parents and kids is the graduation from “Diapers” to “Underpants”. is could be a breeze for some of the fortunate parents and it could be a nightmare for others. It all depends on how your child perceives and how much he/ she is receptive to change and what meaning they are making in their mind when switching to new habits. is book is not a manual on How to Potty Train your Kid in a specified time, but it is a result of my own experience with my daughter. She is a very quick learner and shows interest in new activities. But the potty-training phase quickly turned into a stressful nightmare both for us and for our daughter as we tried to force her to get potty trained over a weekend. She was petrified at the very first sight of potty and threw a tantrum like never. We learned to take a step back and respected the fact that she does not like this method. We decided to make this activity fun for her by introducing her to potty training books, fun illustrations, making and singing potty song with her, showing her how other kids use potty and wear underpants. e most important ingredient was that we left it to her own pace and one fine day she decided to take the next step all on her own, got rid of her diapers, used the potty and came out of the bathroom with a smile!!!!!! In this book we attempted to tell the story through our main character on how she got potty trained in a very simple way with visually engaging illustrations. Also, the book has easy to read sight words, images and prepositions which also serve as a Level 1 reading book for new readers. We hope that this book engages your child visually and helps to connect with the main character depicted in the book and make the right meaning in their brains.
Hello! My name is Saha and I am 2.5 years old. This is my friend Poppy.
I love jumping, going up the ladder and down the slide and playing in the park with my friends.
But, my diaper gets heavy and comes in my way when I slide, jump and sway.
Mommy showed me How Ducky became heavy and sad if she did not pee.
Mommy showed me How ducky peed and it became light and happy.
My mommy says, I am a big girl and I don’t need diapers. I can pee and poo in the potty as big girls do.
I can brush my teeth. I can comb my hair. I can wear my dress and I can dress my teddy bear.
But Potty is...... big, scary and makes awful noises.
But, My mommy is always there to help me! My mommy got me a small Mickey mouse pink potty. I like it as it is small and I can keep it anywhere. I keep it next to the big potty !!!
I love sitting on my new pink potty.
My friends also have colorful potties!!!!! Mika’s Potty is blue.
Daisys potty is Red.
Sara has a blue potty.
I had a big glass of my favorite strawberry juice. Now that I don’t wear diapers, how do I know when to pee?
I go to potty after I go to potty I drink my milk. after I eat. I go to potty after my nap.
How do I know? I wiggle and giggle, I feel funny in my tummy, that’s when I know, to sit on the potty.
What do I do? I pull down my panties and I sit on my potty. I read, sing and play with my poppy.
When I feel funny, I push.
When I hear the sound, I flush.
I wipe, wash and dry my hands. To play with my friends joining hands.
Now I play, slide and jump without my diaper.
I am proud of myself and I have earned my star. I know when to use potty And make mommy and tummy happy. Bye Bye Diapers……. I am a Big Girl now !!!!!!!!!!!!
