Note: Due to the conductivity of the soil and semiconductor surrounding the neutral, achieving true isolation from other circuits cannot be relied on, EPZ and insulation methods provide the best protection practices. The ground mat, when properly installed, can be used to create an EPZ for underground cable work, the same way a cluster bar on overhead structures creates an EPZ that extends below the worker’s feet.
