By the time they make their debut, these young artists have undergone intensive training that lasts at least a year. 1.Bánh Mì: The bánh m (particularly, the bánh m thit) is a traditional Vietnamese street dish that blends crunchy, salty, and spicy characteristics to the pleasure of sandwich lovers everywhere. This traditional Vietnamese sandwich is an excellent example of fusion cuisine. On a baguette, a classic bánh m is made comprised of meat (commonly pâté), pickled veggies, chiles, and cilantro. The imprint of French colonialism may be seen in everything from the pâté to the mayonnaise. The Vietnamese sandwich, held together by the essential French baguette, harkens back to the country's colonial past.

INTERVIEW With the godfather of fusion cuisine chef Peter Gordo

W Q: What is it about fusion food that inspires you? on Chef Gordon: “I enjoy having the flexibility to try new things. Because there are few rules, there is no \"grandmother\" watching over my shoulder telling me I can't do this or that. I can be reasonably relaxed because of my independence. However, there are a lot of combinations that won't work, and that's where expertise and knowledge of varied flavors and textures come in handy.” Q: As a strong proponent of developing youth skills in the kitchen, what advice would you give young aspiring chefs? A: “You're about to begin on a fantastic career with limitless opportunities. However, be ready to work hard under duress and on days when your pals are on vacation. If you appreciate cooking and eating and are willing to listen to your elders, you will most likely succeed.”
