THE INTERVIEW WITH OUR HEADMASTER, SÜLEYMAN EŞİT Melike Hiybet ÖZGÜÇ: Dear Mr. EŞİT, we want to interview with you for our school magazine. Can we ask you some questions? Mr. EŞİT: Of course. Ecrin Nisa AĞRALI: Where and when were you born? Mr. EŞİT: I was born in a village, called Hüyük in Seydişehir in Konya in 1969. Melike Hiybet ÖZGÜÇ: What was your dream job when you were young? Mr. EŞİT: My dream job was to be a doctor because when I was young a lot of people used to die because of simple diseases. One of them was my best friend . I was really sorry for him. If I had been a doctor, I would have been a surgeon. Also, I have four daughters. One of them is a doctor, two of them study medicine and the last one studies pharmacy. Ecrin Nisa AĞRALI: Do you like your current job? Mr. EŞİT: Yes, I really like being a teacher.Fortunately, I chose this job. The main purpose is to serve people. If you become a doctor, you will save people's lives but if you become a teacher, you will set light to people's world and hereafter. Our Prophet(PBUH) says: \" The one who guides others to good deeds is like the one who does them. If we teach you something useful, then we gain good deed.

Melike Hiybet ÖZGÜÇ:Do you have any difficulties while teaching? Mr. EŞİT: No. Actually, I have worked as a headmaster so far. I teach only on Saturdays, and I really enjoy it.On weekdays, I am very busy with school stuff. I wish I could give more lessons but I don't have enough time like the other teachers whose jobs are only teaching. Ecrin Nisa AĞRALI: What are your duties and responsibilities? Mr. EŞİT: A headmaster has a lot of responsibilities. The most important one is planning. I have to plan everything about students and teachers. For example you will have your exams next week so we did a lot of meetings with my assistants and try to guide you in the best way. Our school was among the first seven imam hatip schools so my six assistants and we have many responsibilities. On the other hand, my another duty is to provide peace and make the students and teachers happy in this school. Ecrin Nisa AĞRALI: And now , our last question. What are your advices to the students? Mr. EŞİT: You should do your best to be a servant to ALLAH. You sould be a good reader to be a good believer. Because, the first commend of Quran is 'Read in the name of your Lord who created'. You should read Quran properly and the life of our Prophet (PBUH). To lead a good life we need a torch and teachers are the ones holding this torch. Whatever job you will have in the future , don't forget your teachers and be faithful. Melike Hiybet ÖZGÜÇ: Thanks for the inteview. Ecrin Nisa AĞRALI & Melike Hiybet ÖZGÜÇ 6/D

A NEIGHBOR IN PARADISE Once upon a time a Sultan was walking around the cities. He had changed his clothes so that no one would recognize him and he took one of his slaves with him. He wanted to know what his people really thought about his administration. It was winter and very cold. He went into a small mosque. Two poor men were sitting in the corner, shivering. They had no place to go. The Sultan approached them, wondering what they were talking about. The funny one was complaining about the cold weather: “After I die, when we go to Paradise, I will not let our Sultan enter Paradise. If I see him approaching the gates, I will take off my shoe and hit him on the head.” The second man asked, curiously: “Why would you keep our Sultan out of Paradise?” “Of course I would not let him enter. While we are freezing here, he is sitting comfortably in his warm palace; he doesn’t know how we live. How can he be my neighbor in Paradise? I don’t need any such neighbor there.” They both laughed. The Sultan said to his slave: “Do not forget this small mosque and these two men.” When the Sultan returned to the palace, he sent his men to the mosque. They brought the two poor men to the palace. The two men were puzzled about what was going on. While they were waiting in fear, they were taken into a luxurious room, and they were told: ”You will eat, drink, and live here and you will pray for our Sultan and you will not object him to be your neighbor in Paradise.” What a kind-hearted Sultan he is, isn’t he? Our Prophet (peace be upon him) praised those who help the needy in the following hadith: “Whosoever takes care of a believer’s need in this world, God will take care of his need in the Hereafter.”

Abandoned Hope There was a little dog which taught people to hope and dream. It wished it could be lucky about his owner. The littlle dog and his owner loved to play with ball. Or just little dog supposed so. One day, the owner , who had a grudge in his eyes, held its coller. He was dragging him along to a road to eternity... The dog was happy. It was so happy. Because it thougth they would play with ball again. But this road was a little long. It was so far from home. Then his owner stopped. And the little dog stopped, too. It stood where it would wait forever. But it noticed something. There was no ball in his owners hands. And he looked like he would go to somewhere. The little dog was staring at him as his owner was disappearinginto the dark. It thought he was going to bring the ball to play. Little dog waited. for hours, for days and for years... That dog waited for somone who would never come. And maybe people would learn loyalty from this little dog. What was patience and hope? The dog taught it to people. Because the patience is to dream the rose while looking at the thorn and to dream the day while looking at the nigth. And don't forget, innocent animals don't have to teach huminity to humans...
