Making a Lasting Difference

Gifts to Education Make a Real Difference We are fortunate at Redlands to have a community with a strong and generous tradition of giving. Our motto ‘Let your light shine’ is an attitude we carry in all our endeavours. To ensure that we continue to support our students to achieve their personal best and equip them for our rapidly changing world, we must continually invest in our facilities, infrastructure, curricular and cocurricular activities. The School and campuses we enjoy today are a direct reflection of the contributions and support of generations of parents, Alumni, staff and friends of Redlands. Our community plays a vital role in the growth and advancement of Redlands. “ Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.” Warren Buffet - Investor and philanthropist

The Impact of Giving The Redlands Foundation works closely with the Board, School Leadership and community to support strategic programs, such as: ● Means-tested scholarships which can change and inspire the lives of outstanding students who would otherwise be unable to experience a Redlands education ● The implementation of the Senior Campus Master Plan to upgrade facilities and infrastructure on the Senior Campus, encompassing academic, sport and performing arts facilities It is through the generosity of previous generations that a number of students have been awarded a means-tested scholarship and all of our students across both campuses are able to enjoy world-class facilities which directly support the Redlands Learning Platform. The support of our Redlands community has contributed to many significant projects in recent times that include: ● Peter Cornish Building, 2002 (Junior Campus) ● Roseby Science Building/Liggins Atrium, 2007 (Senior Campus) ● John Roberts Centre, 2018 (Senior Campus) ● Redlands Learning Hub, 2020 (Senior Campus) ● Peter Lennox Means-Tested Scholarships, 2021-2022 Every Contribution Matters Philanthropy is a personal journey and your consideration of a gift is extremely important to us. Valued contributions can be made in many different ways; a financial contribution as a one-off gift, making a regular giving commitment, making a gift when paying School fees or volunteering are all greatly appreciated. No matter how large or small your gift is, you will be contributing to shape the prospects of our children for today, and for many years to come.

Where to Donate We are committed to developing well-rounded, confident and compassionate young adults who will leave their mark on the global community. Donations from our community provide valuable resources to the School and allow us to continue to improve and enhance the journey of our current and future students. Donations can be made to the following funds: Scholarship Fund An endowment fund for a means-tested Scholarship was launched in 2010 by our former Principal, Dr Peter Lennox. A gift of this nature provides opportunities for exceptionally talented students who will make a strong contribution to both Redlands and our society, as well as enhancing the diversity of our student body. Our goal is to grant one full-time scholarship to a Year 7 student each year. Building Fund Building Fund contributions are directed towards the development of facilities and infrastructure. With your support our students and staff can enjoy the benefits that world-class facilities provide for innovative and contemporary ways of learning. Library Fund Contributions are directed towards resources that support the curriculum and inspire students, ranging from visual aids and multimedia content to electronic databases and print publications. Contributions to all three Funds are eligible for an Australian Tax Office deduction.

Volunteering at Redlands Volunteering is a generous and greatly appreciated way to support the School. It is also a wonderful opportunity to meet other Redlands parents and friends and be involved in the vibrant and inclusive Redlands community. Redlands Parents and Friends Association (RPFA) The RPFA’s primary objective is to build a supportive community for the School, and importantly, nurture the community spirit of the School. It is supported by the RPFA Committee and its main subcommittees, the Parent Contact Groups (covering academic Year Groups) and Friends of Groups (covering Sport and Performing Arts groups). The RPFA organises numerous community events, which are advertised in the dedicated RPFA page in Note Day (the School’s weekly newsletter). If you have the time and energy to support the School, please join the RPFA Committee and/or one of its many sub-committees. The RPFA Committee proudly organises a Second Hand Uniform Sale twice a year which requires support from volunteers. This initiative is greatly appreciated by parents, supports our sustainability programs and the proceeds are dedicated towards our means-tested Scholarship Fund. Parent Contact Groups (PCGs) Becoming a Year or Class Parent Contact is a great opportunity to support your child’s academic group and, at the same time, mix with other parents from your child’s Year Group. PCGs welcome new families to Redlands, organise coffee mornings, lunches and dinners, support Redlands teachers and assist when needed. You can actively support classroom activities such as reading and art, excursions, Sport Carnivals, International Day, as well as our school-wide Spring Fair. Friends of Groups (FoGs) The FoGs play a vital role in supporting Redlands cocurricular programs. Most Sports and areas of the School’s Performing Arts program are supported by a FoG, providing support to teams and performers through activities from costume construction to volunteering at events, providing refreshments at home sports games, as well as helping to organise end of season functions. For more information on volunteering at Redlands please contact [email protected].

Other Ways to Support Corporate Sponsorship We welcome corporate support for major events such as the Gala Ball, Spring Fair, Melbourne Cup Luncheon, the School Musical, Gala Arts and other fundraising events. This is a good opportunity to raise awareness of your products and services in our community while meeting Corporate Social Responsibility objectives. Gifts in Kind During the year the Foundation Office organises or supports various events. We particularly welcome and appreciate gifts for auctions or raffles at Redlands fundraising events. Pro Bono Support Perhaps donating your skills or services is more in line with how you can help. We greatly appreciate parents who can donate their specialist skills and services, including event management and commercial printing. Gifts in Wills Gifts in Wills are a very special and personal way in which you can support our students.
