What is the Foundation Scholarship? The Redlands Foundation Scholarship is a means- tested scholarship which provides the opportunity for a Redlands education to students who may otherwise be unable to pay the regular tuition fees. It is offered to a student with a strong academic record and the ability and desire to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the School. In this way, the Redlands Foundation Scholarship broadens access to a Redlands education and enhances the diversity of students who attend the School. An endowment fund for a means-tested Scholarship was launched in 2010 by our Principal, Dr Peter Lennox. For every $1,000,000 raised, Redlands can use the interest earned to offer a scholarship (or several part scholarships). Extraordinarily generous support from the Redlands community raised in excess of that target in 2014 and the fund now stands at over $1.4m. We currently have one Foundation Scholarship student enjoying the benefits of a Redlands education thanks to the generosity of the community, and we hope to be able to start another student on a Scholarship in the near future. Some of the very best private educational institutions, having worked to build an endowment fund over generations, are today in a position to provide a socially-enriched community that brings together students from many different social and cultural backgrounds.



The Gift of Education The gift of an education through a scholarship can change and inspire the lives of outstanding students and can assist in attracting and providing those opportunities to other high-achieving and/or well- rounded students who otherwise would not be able to experience the Redlands journey. We welcome contributions to the Redlands Foundation Scholarship Fund. Your tax-deductible contribution, no matter how large or small, will help to reach our goal of offering full or partial scholarships to exceptional students to benefit from a Redlands education. A Redlands education enables students to achieve their personal best, whilst pursuing excellence, and benefiting from an all rounder co-educational education. Our results are indicative of student’s academic strengths and success. Of a total of 133 students who completed the HSC and IB in 2016 (64 HSC and 69 IB students): • 11 students achieved an ATAR of 99 or more • 21 students achieved an ATAR of 98 or more • 45 students achieved an ATAR of 95 or more • 62 students achieved an ATAR of 90 or more 

Your gift is secure Donations to the Scholarship Fund are conservatively invested in a secure Trust, monitored by a Trust Deed, that ensures that these funds can only ever be used for this purpose. Only income from funds invested can be used to underwrite the Foundation Scholarship. The Trust Deed stipulates that the base corpus must not be diminished.
