ICT SUMMER HOLIDAY HOMEWORK Networking Components:- A computer network is a set of computers sharing resources located on or provided by network nodes. To establish wired networking in a group of computers, you require some additional components that are as follow: Network Card:

A network card is used to physically attach a computer to a network, so that it can participate in network communication. It is also known as networking interface card (NIC). It is considered a piece of computer hardware. Network Cable: Networking cables are networking hardware used to connect one network device to other network devices or to connect two or more computers to share printers, scanners etc. These wires are arranged in a special order, and an RJ-45 connector (similar in design, but bigger than the connector used with the telephone wire) is crimped at both the ends of the cable.

Modem: Modem is short for \"Modulator-Demodulator.\" It is a hardware component that allows a computer or another device, such as a router or switch, to connect to the Internet. It converts the digital signals of a computer into analog signals to enable their transmission via phone lines. Hub:

A hub is a network device that is used to connect all the computers in a network with each other. A hub is less sophisticated than a switch, the latter of which can isolate data transmissions to specific devices. Switch: A switch works similar to a hub. However, unlike a hub, the switch does not broadcast the message on the entire network. A network switch is networking hardware that connects devices on a computer network by using packet switching to receive and forward data to the destination device.

Router: A router is a device that connects two different types of networks with each other, for example, a LAN with WAN.
