COMPONENTS OF C P U • CPU itself has following three components. Memory or Storage Unit; Control Unit; ALU(Arithmetic Logic Unit) Memory or Storage Unit. This unit can store instructions, data, and intermediate results. This unit supplies information to other units of the computer when needed. • Memory unit is the main components of CPU, because its main objective is to store all instructions, and pass them to other component of CPU (Control unit). In the computer industries, computer memory is spited into two main categories such as primary and secondary memory. • The control unit is a part of the Central Processing Unit (CPU). The CPU is divided into the arithmetic logic unit and the control unit. The control unit generates the appropriate timing and control signals to all the operations involved with a computer • The computer system, ALU is a main component of the central processing unit, which stands for arithmetic logic unit and performs arithmetic and logic operations. It is also known as an integer unit (IU) that is an integrated circuit within a CPU or GPU, which is the last component to perform calculations in the processo. By –Parth Porwal
