HOW TO SHARE YOUR LISTING ON FACEBOOK – 3 of 7 See the first option 'On your own Timeline' Other options are: On a friend's Timeline In a group On a page you manage ( should be your FB business page-that's another topic) or in a private message. In most cases: USE “On your own Timeline” Once it is on FB you can share it easily. HOW TO SHARE YOUR LISTING ON FACEBOOK – 4 of 7 The 'Only Me' button is found under the “More Options” This is helpful when testing the post. The post goes to your timeline and only YOU can see it. You can delete the post on Facebook after you test it. The delete option is available in your timeline at the top right of every post. Also helpful to correct spelling or edit some text you're not happy with. Then you can set up your post normally. Once you get the hang of posting this way, you can feel comfortable with posting directly. -------- After you select Friends or Public ( Public may get you better reach) Back to the top left where it reads: 'Say something about this' Well... put something about the listing... from a great description-- but not to long... people have short attention spans. Go back to the bottom right to the blue Share Link -- Click it. ---- Then go to where you posted it to verify it worked like you wanted. When your post is on your timeline and is now showing up in the stream thread, it can be shared easily. See the Share button and options below. HOW TO SHARE YOUR LISTING ON FACEBOOK – 6 of 7 If you click the first “Share Now” option... the post will share immediately as is to your timeline sharing settings... So, it will show as Share Now (Friends) or Share Now (Public) or even the Share Now (Just Me). The main thing here is you won't have an option to add comments. If you would like to add comments to the post (and you should to have control of your post) you should almost always select the “Share” option... and NOT the Share Now option. When you select the Share option you will see this. And you will notice, you now have control to add comments and where you would like to share the post. HOW TO SHARE YOUR LISTING ON FACEBOOK – 7 of 7 The Facebook Sharing Strategy The strategy is get your listings on Facebook to be shared by others beyond just posting on your timeline. The more shares will bring visitors to the listing page and those in the market will get an email captured via registration on chaplinwilliams.com and now you have a good lead to follow up. Also, when it is on Facebook being shared you may get contacted directly on FB... another lead opportunity. BE CAREFUL -- DO NOT go and post all your listings at once -- post them when you first get the listing and encourage your seller to share your post as well. Please don't “wear out your welcome” by posting in groups that make no sense for real estate. If you post to often, the result is “post blindness” to the viewers that scroll down the page thinking... “Oh, it's them again”. Just use some common sense. Think about what you notice on Facebook and comment on or would most likely click on to find more information. With all that in mind, the more shares from others will bring you more leads. For your existing listings -- post one or 2 a week. For a new listing – get into a good habit of including Facebook posting and sharing. Include it in all the things to do for a new listing like – signs, pictures, virtual tours, email, etc. There are some other Facebook posting tricks we will be sending you later.
