Most of the time, it’s one’s      They say, “If there are no ups and regret that won’t allow them to move downs in your life, it means you are forward. Regret is normal, from girl to dead.” Life itself is a bumpy road, and boy, young to old, it’s important for whether we like it or not, we’ll have to living. But just because it’s important, go through it. For some, it’s quite easy doesn’t mean letting it take over the rest to go on, and move with their life. But of your world. Regret is divided into for others, it’s not that simple. You will three types; regret of what you did, of find in your path some small bumps what you didn’t do, and of what you can’t that you can cross easily, but some do. The regret of what you did is easy to other bumps get you stuck. If you don’t understand, and even easier to cause. move on, you won’t. But then the string Whether it’s hurting someone, cheating, of time will finish, and it’ll take you lying, and so on. And lastly, the regret of what you can’t do is what cannot be changed, like REISE | PAGE 3 in the case of losing a loved one. Usually, in these cases, the grieving person starts blaming themselves for the loss of that person, but mainly blaming themselves because they can’t do anything about it. And all these types of regrets are completely normal unless you allow them to be a burden in your life holding you down.   OCTOBER 2018                                                                                 VOLUME 1

SARAH ALSHAMEKH DHAHRAN AHLIYYA SCHOOLS PAGE  26        “In what way does it pull me down?” some might ask. Well, it usually means that the person keeps reminding themselves of what happened, they always feel a sharp pain in their chest due to their severe regret. Not to mention, sometimes one can’t and won’t join activities because it reminds them of certain events. They hold their heads with their hands, on their knees, crying because of how “stupid” or “useless” they are. That’s when you know, it’s unhealthy. But how do you heal yourself? Some will just tell you to move on with your life, but that’s not how it works. It’s not that simple to lift that burden, but it’s also not impossible.        Start off by knowing and acknowledging that every REISE | PAGE 4 single person in this whole wide world does wrong, they all make mistakes, and they all sin. You’d probably think then that you did what’s worse than ever, but you haven’t, and that’s where point two comes in. As a Muslim, understand that, as mentioned before, all people sin, and understand that the best of them are those who simply seek forgiveness from God. Know, that no matter what you did, no matter how bad, God (Allah) is forgiving, and will forgive you if you ask and plead. Thirdly, it already happened and you can’t do anything about it, and as painful as it is to acknowledge, it’s true. When you put your mind to it, you will realize that whatever it is, it had already happened and it’s impossible to go back in time to fix it, so you need to look forward. At last, understand that healing is a process that takes some time. Have patience, and your burden will be lifted, and you can then proceed with your life.   OCTOBER 2018                                                                                 VOLUME 1
