Probationary Firefighter Task Book Officers Guide
Probationary Task Book Assignment You have been assigned a probationary employee. Your probationary employee has been assigned the Probationary Task Book Credential. This consists of assignments assigned to them in Vector Solutions. You will need to ensure that these assignments are completed before the due date. You will also need to validate the assignments in Vector Solutions. The validation process is as follows. • From the home page click the Administration tab at the top of the page. • Go to Completions in the gray vertical bar on the left. • Click Validate Completions from the drop-down. • Choose your firefighter and click continue. • Check the box to the left of the assignments you wish to validate and click continue. • You can view the assignment by clicking the word “details” to the right of the assignment. • You can then choose to click the green Validate button to validate the assignment, or the word cancel to return. • Only using the Reject button as a last resort when you fell more time on the subject will not help the firefighter reach an acceptable level of competency. • Validation is the equivalent of your signature. You can use the checklist on the following page if you wish to do so. If you have questions or need resources please let us know. Also, we need feedback on this process from both the probationary employee and supervisor. Thank you for your efforts in making this department better. Training Division
