The event kicked off at 11 am with 20 teams on board, each having 2 participants. It included 3 rounds of elimination based on the team’s performance in solving the given problems in the fastest time possible. Prof. Dr. Ronaldo Menezes, Professor of Data and Network Science, University of Exeter, UK. He delivered an expert talk on crime prediction using machine learning approaches with all his publications. In addition he explained about the various programs offered in his school with respect to computing disciplines and specialization. He also mentioned about the Indian student’s population and the way they excel in their academics. Higher Education Opportunities in Germany 30 April 2022 at 09.30 AM to10:30 AM Beneficiary : 6th Semester Students of CSE The Department of CSE organized an Expert Lecture on “Higher Education Opportunities in Germany”, for 6th Sem CSE students on 30/04/2022 from 09.30 AM to 10.30AM. The Resource Person was Dr. Thileepan Sekaran, Bioinformatics data scientist, EMBL, Germany. The Key topics were: Higher education opportunities in Germany, Choice of Courses, Types of Universities, Part-time jobs, Cost of living, how Internships are helpful etc. Around 60 students participated and benefited from this Expert talk.
Expert Lecture on “CYBER SECURITY” 30th April 2022 Beneficiary : 6th semester Students The Department of CSE organized an Expert lecture on the topic “Cyber Security” for 6th semester students on 30/04/2022 from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM. Resource person Mr. Rakesh, Senior Information Security Analyst, NetSkope. Cyber security is the application of technologies, processes and controls to protect systems, networks, programs, devices and data from cyber-attacks. It aims to reduce the risk of cyber-attacks and protect against unauthorised exploitation of systems, networks and technologies. A total of 70 Participants benefited from the event. 4th National Conference on Advancements in Computer Science and Engineering NCACSE 2022 11/05/2022 at 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM Beneficiary : 6th Semester Students of CSE The Department of Computer Science and Engineering in association with VTU, Belagavi, Silver Jubilee Celebrations and Computer Society of India organized the 4th National Conference on Advancements in Computer Science and Engineering NCACSE 2022. The conference was intended to provide a common forum or discussions about the recent trends & advancements of research in the area of Computer Science. Invited technical papers on domains like Networks, Bigdata Analytics, Machine learning, Data Science, IoT, Network Security, Cloud Computing, Data Mining, Blockchain, to name a few were presented. I am happy to inform you that we received 75 papers on all these domains across various institutions.
Tech Talk 16th May, 2022 at 09:30 AM Beneficiary : 6th sem Students of CSE The Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized a tech talk on “Google Cloud Platform in real world Use Case” for the 6th sem CSE students. The resource Person was Mr. Pio AmalRaj, Google Cloud platform Architect, AHEAD, West Virginia, USA. The various topics on Google cloud platform was discussed along with supervised and unsupervised Learning methods. Around 75 students participated and benefitted from the Tech talk. Expert Lecture on “AI CHATBOTS” 24th May 2022 Beneficiary : 6th Semester Students The Department of CSE organized an Expert lecture on the topic “AI CHATBOTS” for 6th semester students on 24/05/2022 from 10.00 AM to 12.00 PM. The Resource person Mr. Prasad Rao, Senior Project Manager, Legato Health Technologies addressed the session on Chatbots. He said that chatbots are being deployed across industries to assist customers (customer service), or engage with customers (sales and marketing), or do both. However, there are a few chatbot applications that are unique to each industry. In this blog, applications of chatbots in six key industries, along with real-life examples. He also suggested to jump to the industry each of them were interested in, be it retail or e-commerce, Travel and hospitality, Banking, finance, and fintech, Healthcare, Media and entertainment Education etc….A total of 110 participants got benefited from this event.

He is currently researching in the field of Nanosatel- lites as a part of the \"75 Student Satellites\" mission with TSC, ITCA, ISRO, ISA. He was the Chairperson in IEEE student Branch. Guest Lecture on Embedded Systems in Automotive 14/05/2022 Beneficiary : VI ECE students The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted an online Guest lecture on “Embedded System in Automotive” May 14th 2022. The speaker, Mr. Robinson Rajasekaran, is working as Hardware Architect at Robert Bosch Engineering. He focused on the current trends, role of embedded systems in automotive industry. He discussed key drivers and technologies for autonomous cars and levels of automation. The session was concluded with discussing the expectations from engineers in designing embedded systems for automotive applications. Around 37 students attended the online session. It was conducted for 6th semester students. Online Alumni Talk on “REST APIs” 25/05/2022 | Beneficiary : VI Sem Students The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering conducted an International alumni talk on “REST APIs” on 25th May 2022(venue: MBA Seminar Hall). The speaker, Mr. Pavan Kumar, is an alumnus of ECE department (Batch-2015-2019). He is currently working as a software Integration Engineer at Catchpoints Systems. The Alumnus is a solution architect deal- ing with developing software solutions by studying documenta- tions of an API or following a dev SDK guide. The audience was VI semester students. The talk comprised of Rest APIs, princi- ples of API and web service applications. Students interacted with the speaker at the end of the session by taking suggestions and clarifying doubts on APIs. The session was overall very informative. Workshop on Python Programming 28/05/2022 | Beneficiary : VIIIth SEMESTER STUDENTS A workshop on “Python Programming” for VIII Semester ECE Students was conducted on 28th May, 2022. A Total of 150 Students participated in this workshop. The resource person of the workshop is Mr. Dhananjay Singh, Founder & CEO, ROBOPRENR & SP Robotics Maker Labs, Bangalore. The workshop was mainly focused on the undergraduate students gaining the working knowledge that is needed to start programming, debugging and using Python in everyday tasks. Students have learnt the basics of writing and running Python scripts. This workshop is to expand their knowledge in the latest programming language. Faculty Development Programme on “Research Potential in Advanced Power Electronics & Renewable Energy ” 11/05/2022 Beneficiary : IVth & VIth SEMESTER STUDENTS The IEEE PELS NHCE Student Branch Chapter from Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, New Horizon College of Engineering, Bengaluru organized a Faculty Development Programme on “Research Potential in Advanced Power Electronics & Renewable Energy” from 23rd May, 2022 – 31st May, 2022, between 09:00 AM to 05:00 PM in association with National Institute of Technology, Warangal and IEEE Power Electronics Society, Bangalore Chapter through online mode. This programme was sponsored by Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), GOI. The FDP was designed to address research advancements in Power conversion topologies and applications in the industry and to encourage various zonal professionals’/students/aca- demicians towards research and for their academic quality improvement too. This course will offer a unique oppor- tunity to all the participants in the relevant topics in Real Time Power Electronic systems and its applications through theoretical sessions and simulation plus laboratory-based experiments and demonstrations. It is due to development of switching devices, magnetic components, control techniques, computational methods, DSP/FPGA controllers, etc. Applications of power electronics can be found in several areas like Renewable Energy, industry, transportation, medical, telecommunication, residential energy systems, electric vehicles etc. Certain low and high power switching converters are developed in these areas. Also, this FDP aims at giving scope for future research. The entire session is very informative and enthusiastic manner in the area of power electronics industry. The eminent experts from the IIT, NIT, VIT, BITS Pilani and Industry delivered the lecture and his talk has been very well received by the 60 participants. Seminar on “Data and Deployment with TENSORFLOW.JS” 11/5/2022 (11:00AM-1:00PM) Beneficiary : Across all Departments The i-SCRUM club of Department of Information Science and Engineering conducted seminar on “Data and Deployment with TENSORFLOW.JS” on 5th May 2022 from 11:00am -1:00pm. The seminar was held for students from all the departments of NHCE. The resource person, Mr. Shaurya Sinha is the co-founder at DevTown, ShapeAi. His field of expertise is Machine Learning and Data Analysis. He recently developed a web app using ReactJS, Django, ETL Pipelines and AWS that lets Refugees to report to the web app, the problems they are facing in a disaster struck area The event started with welcome speech by the club treasurer, Deepak T. He introduced our speaker Mr. Shaurya Sinha who spoke about the topic Data and deployment with tensorflow.js. He presented about machine learning techniques and challenges faced in that field. His presentation was considerate and knowledgeable and it encouraged students. EYRIS 2022 09-05-2022(11:00AM-3:00PM) Beneficiary : Across all Departments An event Eyris was conducted on 9th May, 2022 under VMware IT Academy Club, an intra-colle- giate technical event held by the Information Science & Engineering Department. The event started around 11:00 a.m.in the morning with an enthusiastic participation of 136 students in teams of 4 across various departments. An introduction to the event was given in the class room in the presence of all participants. Eyris had two rounds in total: 1. Whisper in the wind 2. Double Trouble The entire event was based on problem solving and focused on technical knowledge. The final top 2 teams were awarded certificates based on accuracy and time. It was an inter -department hands on workshop where all the participants were first given the introduction about the usage of the software and further taught with an example model. With advancements in computer graphics, creating virtual animations and building a career in computer design and art has become a prevalent interest in the current generation. INDUSTRIAL VISIT TO TVS MOTOR COMPANY 11TH MAY 2022 Beneficiary : MBA – 1st SEM STUDENTS On 11th of May 2022, Department of Management Studies went on an “Industrial visit” to TVS Motor Company, Hosur. The aim of the Industrial visit to TVS was to help students understand the end- to- end process in a manufacturing unit. This was an opportunity to have a face-to-face session with technical or administrative experts of the organization to ask questions and clarify doubts. Before entering the plant, standing instructions were given to the students as they were entering floor shop of 4th largest 2-wheeler company’s plant. Once the students entered the plant, they were informed about the Management strategies followed by TVS and their partnering companies. The students were taken to the location where Gear box casing is made. They showed us how some of the major plastic parts were designed and tuned precisely to their specification. The entire unit was completely automated. On behalf of the students of the department of management studies, we would like to express our gratitude towards Dr. Sheelan Misra and the entire faculty for providing us with a great learning opportunity. NITTE BUSINESS QUIZ 12th MAY, 2022 Beneficiary : 6th Semester Students of CSE The students of MBA Department participated in the management fest held at NITTE Meenakshi Institute of Technology on the 12th May 2022. There were 19 teams competing and there were five rounds in which the last two being the finals. The first round was a written MCQ test followed by logos, taglines and connecting images in the second round. The third round was a rapid-fire round. NHCE finished as the third highest ranked team at the end of 3 rounds and we qualified for the finals. The finals took place and four teams qualified. There were 2 rounds and the final round had negative marking. In the end, NHCE finished as winners and we received a trophy, cash prize and certificates.

The speaker was Mr. Ashwin Pachori, an MBA graduate who started an own media buying and planning agency named Aadow marketing lab. He has handled diversified businesses, working in different fields such as E-Commerce/Hyper local Marketplace, Advertising Agency, Neuromarketing, and Automotive Operating Software Services 1. Filling Process for industrial design registration 17TH MAY 2022 Beneficiary : MBA – 1st SEM STUDENTS Department of Management Studies, NHCE organised A guest lecture on filing process for industrial design Registration on the 17th of May at 9.00 am. The speaker was Dr. V. Agalya who spoke about how a new design could be created and can be registered for patent so that it cannot be copied of trade marked by anyone else .No one could claim a particular design if it is registered and hence this should be the first step in creating any such products and run a business .Ma’am proceeded to give various activities to the students to create various designs and then gave a broad view on how the registration could be done on the authorised site and step wise guidance was given. The Informative words truly made an impact in each students mind and provoked the minds of those who truly want to gain success and knowledge in life . It was a wonderful experience and this guest lecture truly brought out the ideologies of every students thought process and hence helped us to mould our personality for the same.

The speaker was Mr. Shankar M Mepparambath who spoke about how statistics could be used for various aspects of life and about the Jamovi software that could be used to find errors and easily be modified as well .This truly was a new type of information for the students as the software was new to them and it was quite easy as well as informative. He also spoke about the various applications of statistics regarding population and for analysis as well. CAREER 3.0-CHALLENGES AND ROAD AHEAD 17TH MAY 2022 Beneficiary : MBA – 1st SEM STUDENTS The Department of Management Studies, NHCE organised a guest lecture on Career 3.0 -Challenges and Road ahead on the 17th of May at 2.00 pm. The speaker was Prof. Bholanath Dutta who spoke about how everything was different and unique in the PG programs unlike that of UG or PUC. He explained to us that this was a professional program and that everything is moving in the speed of 3.0 or triple the speed that it used to be. Hence it is everyone’s duty and responsibility to act up and find that one unique USP that could make the students the best and prepared for they’re futures .Various examples of companies and entrepreneurs were given where he spoke about how they used the right situation to rise up in the market and how each scenario could be utilised to the fullest. LEVERAGE LINKEDIN 17TH MAY 2022 Beneficiary : MBA – 1st SEM STUDENTS A guest lecture titled \"Leverage LinkedIn\" was conducted on 25/05/2022, The students of 1st year MBA gained a good amount of knowledge regarding the uses of LinkedIn app, features of the app, and also learnt about how to get connected to the right people on the linkedIn app. The speaker for the program was Mr. Venkatesh Prasanna B R who is the founder and Director of Exotrix Learning Firstly, he started learning about why one should be active on LinkedIn? The answer to this was clearly explained saying that linkedIn has a large number of job opportunities and it has 740+ million mem- bers, 675 million monthly users. 61 million linkedIn users are senior level influencers and 40 million are in decision making position etc. Students learnt that LinkedIn can be used for job seeking, networking to connect with industry experts, learning new tech- nologies, join professional groups that include like-minded people etc.. We once again thank NHCE and the Department of MBA for providing us this great and mind-blowing opportunity to guide us into learning not only new things but also things which would be useful to us for the rest of our lives and which would shape our entire lives colorfully……..!!!

It was conducted by Dr. Reshmy Krishnan, Head-Re- search, Muscat College, Sultanate of Oman, Affiliated to University of Malaysia & University of Stirling, UK, for the students of MCA. The following topics are covered in the session: An evolution of AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Simulation of the human brain with its working principle, and Implications of Deep Learning in real-time applications with their benefits. The session focused on the importance of AI and Machine Learning models in making decision-mak- ing process. The transition of Deep Learning with Artificial Neural networks (ANN) has been described with its working principle. The functionality of the brain and its relation in the deep learning model building model has been emphasized with example data. The session highlighted the impact of deep learning in the current teaching-learning process with its importance and future scope. An Expert Talk on “Data Analytics using Tableau” 9th May 2022 Beneficiary : Students of I Semester MCA The Department of MCA organized an expert talk on “Data Analytics using Tableau” on the 9th of May 2022, at 11:20 am. It was conducted by Mr. Koustubh Prem, Associate Data Scientist, Great Learning. Tableau is used to make analysis faster, easier, and more intuitive. Through Tableau data could be analyzed in a quick, iterative way that provides immediate feedback by enhancing the visualization of data. Tableau provides dynamic data inspection tools that help to isolate the data of interest. Tableau is extensively used in Business Intelligence Industry. It helps in streamlining raw data in a very clearly comprehensible format. Introduction to types of Learning, Machine Learning and Deep Learning concepts were introduced by the trainer to make the students to understand about the importance of data analysis. Data manipulation, Data Visualization and Exploratory Data Analysis using Tableau are emphasized during the session.
An Expert Talk on “Preventing Cybercrimes in Financial Institutions” 06th May 2022 Beneficiary : Students of I, IV and VI Semester MCA Department of MCA has organized an Expert Lecture on “Preventing Cyber- crimes in Financial Institutions” on 6th May 2022, from 12:30 PM in online mode. It was conducted by Mr. Emmanuel L. Howe, Faculty of Com- puting, Botho University, (eSwatini Campus), Botswana. 82 students of MCA I Semester, IV Semester and VI Semester and 10 faculty attended the talk and got benefitted. Mr. Immanuel Howe has worked at several universi- ties in South Africa. He was the Chair- man of the Research Committee at IDM and was responsible for actively promot- ing the research culture in Eswatini Campus. His research interests are Personalized Learning, Cybersecurity, Cyber- crime, E-learning, Blended Learning, Teaching and Learning in Higher Education and Information Security. Dr. K.G. Madhwaraj, Professor, Dept of MCA welcomed Mr. Immanuel L. Howe, Faculty, Department of Computing. Later, the resource person highlighted the importance of cybercrimes and its increase in the recent years. He mentioned how students can involve themselves in decreasing the number of cybercrimes by contributing towards research activities. It was conducted by Ms. Vidyashree, working as Sr. Technical Lead (Software Engineering) in Tessolve Semiconductor, Bangalore. She has 8+ years of experience in Industry. The session has started with the introduction to different frameworks which are widely used for creating the application. The speaker gave the overview on Qt Framework. Qt is a cross-platform software for creating GUI as well as application development framework that enables you to compile and run your application on various platforms such as Windows, Mac OS, LINUX or Embedded systems. She demonstrated on how to create a simple application in Qt framework with Visual C++. She also showed to create dialog based app in Qt Framework. It was delivered by Mr. Pramod N, Programmer in Labcorp, Bangalore. He has 3+ years of experience in Industry. He is an Alumni of MCA Department. Prof. S. P. Sreeja introduced and welcomed the speaker, Mr. Pramod N, working as Programmer in Labcorp. The session has started with the introduction to Contract Research Organization. The speaker gave the overview of Clinical Data Management, the various role plays in the organization. Importance of statistics in analyzing the collected data with various graphs is depicted. What kind of data to be collected and the need for validation in a medical field? The speaker also demonstrated the data for a specific disease and how to summarize it with the survey data and analyze it for proper identification using the tool Medidata Rave-a cloud–based clinical data management system which used to capture, manage, and report clinical research data e l e c t r o n i c a l l y.
An Expert Talk on “Introduction to Business Intelligence” 20th May 2022 Beneficiary : Students of I, IV and VI Semester MCA The Department of MCA organized an expert talk on “Introduction to Business Intelligence” on 20th May 2022 at 10:30AM in the online mode. It was conducted by Dr William Yeoh, an Associate Professor at Deakin University’s Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics. Business Intelligence is an important field of study in Information Technology Industry. The objective of the expert talk is introducing the students to the basic, area of applications and tools related to the subject. Fact Based Analysis, Business Intelligence System, Critical Success Factors Framework, Waterfall vs Agile Model, Six Major Types of Business Intelligence Users, Balanced Team, Data Quality Problem, Common Reference Line, Search Based Business Intelligence, Cloud Business Intelligence were covered during the talk. The outcome of this expert talk is that the students got current industry insight in the field of Business Intelligence. Student got to interact with a knowledgeable expert from a foreign university. Students asked queries related to application of Business Intelligence. It broke the monotony of classroom teaching and ignited interest for future learning. Specific queries to career related questions are answered. Opportunities for collaborations and research may be explored using the knowledge gained through the expert talk.

Workshop 6th May 2022 Beneficiary : NHCE Students The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with ROBOHORIZON CLUB in collaboration with STEMx India Pvt.Ltd, conducted a workshop on \"Robotics & Auto- mation\" for the students of NHCE. The STEMx team introduced students on how to code their robots, basics of coding languages as they assemble, then program robots to dance, fight and play sports. With a Scratch-based LEGO® MINDSTORMS® app, builders can interact with the robots from their phones/lap- tops, build their own models and share them online on LEGO® Life. The students were evaluated based on creativity and practicality of their robots
