Toine van de Ven The founder Together Behind the planters, there is a story that begins in 1997. we grow More than 20 years ago, Toine van de Ven started a one- man business in Udenhout. Over the years, his product range 6 changed from heavy concrete sculptures and ornaments, to heavy Terrazzo planters. The planters were then replaced by lightweight Terrazzo-look planters to make them easier to use. These planters are still a big part of the Capi collection today. They have been enriched by the sustainable Made in Holland collection that originated a few years ago, along with the biggest change in Capi’s history: the introduction of reshoring. Toine would never have imagined that delivering heavy sculptures would become the preliminary stage for the Made in Holland products available these days. Within 20 years, Toine has made several big changes, with reshoring being the largest one. Nonetheless, the company has always been driven by sustainability, optimism, innovation and common sense. These are values that you will still find in Capi’s DNA. And so the story continues...

Part of our production takes place in our mission and values. Our goal is to connect with our local our factory in Tilburg. Not only our planters, but the entire community and embrace a green lifestyle together. We company is built around the concept of sustainability. Made with Dutch recycled materials design Part of our production takes place in 100% our own factory in Tilburg. You can recyclable recognise these planters by their unique orange interior. This was intended to indoor & represent their place of origin and it is outdoor nowadays a recognisable feature of our brand. All of the pots manufactured in the Netherlands are made with recycled materials and 100% recyclable. Therefore they are very sustainable. Due to these features, we can guarantee high quality planters with a long lifespan and we provide a 10 year warranty with this collection.

From powder to planter 1 Our production process Capi Europe has developed its own rotation moulding method for the production of the Made in Holland pots. We are the only ones in the world to use this particular rotation moulding technique. With this process, we save up to 80% of the energy compared to traditional rotation moulding. - The Capi robots work 24/7 2 Spinning around The Made in Holland flowerpots are made from a mixture of polyethylene and wood fibres. These raw materials are poured into the mould using a filling system. This is heated, in order to melt and liquefy the mixture. The machines spin around so that everything is distributed throughout the mould. The substance is then cooled to produce the flowerpot. The two layers of the pot (outer layer and insulating layer) are made in a single cycle. - Each pot model, texture and size has its own mould 3 Finishing touches Once the flower pots are removed from the machines, they proceed to the quality control area via a conveyor belt. An inspection is carried out by our product specialists. Afterwards each pot is provided with a Capi label and a barcode. The flowerpots are then wrapped, placed on a pallet and made ready for shipment! - The pots are roughened to give them a natural look 10

100% Our unique Watertight insulating layer The Made in Holland planters consist of two layers. The outside layer shows the design of our planters. The second layer is a unique insulation layer on the inside of the pot. This bright orange layer protects the roots of the plants. 100% watertight – Perfect for indoor use, because the plan- ters are 100% watertight. For outdoor use you only have to drill a drainage hole. Read more about indoor/outdoor use on page 37. Light- Lightweight – The planter resembles natural stone, but has weight the unexpected benefit of being lightweight.
