StreamYard @ FS User Guide Guest instructions Before the broadcast Make sure you have the following: • A laptop or desktop with a webcam and mic. • A recent version of Chrome. • A strong internet connection. Just like Skype, you must have a strong internet connection for it to work well. If possible, connect to your router with an ethernet cable instead of using Wi-Fi. • We recommend wearing earbuds or headphones to prevent audio echoes. If you do not have a laptop or desktop, then you can join on your phone. But the experience is usually best on a laptop/desktop. On Android, we recommend the Chrome browser. On iOS, you must use Safari. Joining the broadcast When the time comes, follow these steps to enter the broadcast studio: 1. The host should provide you with a link before the show. Click the link and you will be taken to their broadcast studio. 2. Allow StreamYard to access your camera and mic. 3. Make sure you have the correct camera and mic selected. 4. Enter a display name. Use your actual name or the name of your brand. Then enter the studio. The host will be informed that you have arrived. You will not be part of the broadcast until the host decides to add you in. The page will update to let you know when you have been added. Then everyone will be able to see and hear you.

Devices and equipment With StreamYard, most of the work happens on our computers, not yours. Your 5-year-old laptop, Chromebook, or desktop will all work just fine! But, if you are serious about streaming (and we hope you are!), we recommend investing in a high-quality mic and webcam. A pair of headphones is also a good idea – this will reduce the potential for echo if you are bringing on guests. Browsers Chrome, Firefox and Opera all work with StreamYard. Unfortunately, other browsers, like Safari, do not support our technology yet. We recommend Chrome for the best experience. Internet Streaming requires a lot of data, but your current ISP or 4G provider should work fine. We recommend that you hardwire (ethernet) to your router. Wi-Fi will work, but not as well.

Make sure it is not muted. 3. Is another program using your mic (Skype, Zoom)? Quit those then refresh the page. 4. Did you mute your mic in your computer settings? 5. Restart your browser. If that does not work, restart your device. This fixes most issues. StreamYard hanging while on air Close your browser and rejoin again How many people can I have on StreamYard? You can have 6 people in the stream. Up to 10 people can enter the broadcast studio so you can swap people in and out if you’re doing a dynamic talk show. Do my guests have to login? No. Anyone with the link can join and no login of any kind is required. Is StreamYard free? StreamYard has both free and paid versions of the product. What are the limits of the free version? The free version is limited to 20 hours of streaming per month. Products disappear all the time because they aren’t sustainable. To always be here for you, StreamYard needs to be sustainable. We give away as much value as we can for free, but there has to be a limit. We find 20 hours is enough for most users. If you need more, you’ll need to upgrade.

What do I get by upgrading? You can remove the StreamYard logo and upload your own. You can also add overlays and backgrounds, and stream to multiple platforms simultaneously. StreamYard will also record all your broadcasts in HD so you can download and repurpose them. You can even record without going live. Full details are on the pricing page. How does payment work? Can I cancel at any time? You can always cancel your subscription. Your previous charges will not be refunded, but you will have full access to the service until the end of the billing cycle. We have a 7-day money back guarantee. After 7 days, your purchase is deemed complete and cannot be refunded. The guarantee only applies to your first charge. We use Stripe as our payment provider. No Paypal at this time. Why do you guys email a code to login? We have seen countless security issues with other companies. The best way to mitigate security risks is to know as little as possible about you. We also don’t like remembering passwords! I’m having an issue. What should I do? Tell us; we will fix it! In the studio, there is a “Having issues?” link. This will pull up Facebook messenger where you can chat with us. You can also email us at [email protected], or leave a message in the StreamYard Community Facebook group. Is there a referral or affiliate program? We have a referral system that gives a discount for new signups and allows you (referrer) to get free months of StreamYard. We do not have an affiliate system at this time, but if you are interested in one, reach out to us over email please. Does StreamYard work on phones? Absolutely! You can use StreamYard on your phone from your browser. You don’t need to download an app or anything. Your guests can also join on their phone. For Android, we recommend the Chrome browser. For iOS, only Safari will work. NOTE: iOS only has video on version 12.2+. Older versions are audio-only. For the best possible experience, we recommend that you and your guests both use a laptop/desktop. Can people watch on StreamYard? StreamYard is a live streaming studio. You produce shows and interviews in the StreamYard studio, and StreamYard broadcasts it wherever you like. Viewers watch on places like YouTube or Facebook.

Can I stream to Instagram with StreamYard Instagram does not officially support streaming outside of their own mobile app. Although it is possible to work around this limitation, we want StreamYard to be compliant with Instagram’s policies and do not offer Instagram as a supported destination. As soon as Instagram officially allows streaming outside of their own app, we will add it as a supported destination
