He established the first modern Indian research school in chemistry (post classical age) and is regarded as the Father of Indian Chemistry. He was the founder of Bengal Chemicals & Pharmaceuticals, India's first pharmaceutical company. He is the author of A History of Hindu Chemistry from the Earliest Times to the Middle of the Sixteenth Century (1902).Prafulla Chandra Ray was born in the village of Raruli-Katipara in Bangladesh. Ganga Prasad Birla (2 August 1922 – 5 March 2010), was an Indian industrialist. Ganga Prasad Birla belonged to Maheshwari Marwari Community from Rajasthan.He joined the board in 1942 and later became its chairman in 1957. He began his innings in group flagship, Hindustan Motors in 1969 and became its chairman in 1982. He also founded Hyderabad Industries Limited and many academic institutions such as Birla Institute of Technology, Birla Archaeological and Cultural Research Institute, Modern High School for Girls, Kolkata, and hospitals such as BM Birla Heart Research Institute and Calcutta Medical Research Institute. Vijaybhai Ramniklalbhai Rupani (2 August 1956), is an Indian politician who served as the 16th Chief Minister of Gujarat from 2016 to 2021 for two terms. Vijay Rupani started his career as student activist associated with Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). He was a member of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly, representing Rajkot West. He is a member of Bharatiya Janata Party. He has been associated with Bharatiya Janta Party since its establishment.Vijay Rupani was born to in Yangon, Myanmar to a Jain Bania family.

NOTABLE EVENTS OF AUGUST 02 Death Anniversary Ramkinkar Baij (25 May 1906 – 2 August 1980), was an Indian sculptor and painter, one of the pioneers of modern Indian sculpture and a key figure of Contextual Modernism.Baij was born in an economically modest family in the Bankura district of the modern state of West Bengal in India. In that sense, he was a Bengali, not an Adivasi, as many people usually think. The surname Baij derived from Boidda (Baidya) and Boijo consequently. His family surname was Poramanik and was abandoned by him in early 1925. However, many of his artistic creations have been inspired by the lifestyles of rural dalit or Adivasi (Santhal) communities living in and around his place of work Santiniketan. Kamal Kapoor (22 February 1920 – 2 August 2010), was an Indian actor and producer who acted in around 600 Hindi, Punjabi and Gujarati films.He started his career working as a protagonist through the 1940s-50s. His first film was Door Chalen, which was released in 1946. He started playing a villain in the 1960s-70s. Some of his popular roles are those of the father of Raj Kapoor in Aag and Narang in Don. Alexander Graham Bell (3 March 1847 – 2 August 1922) was a Scottish-born inventor, scientist and engineer who is credited with patenting the first practical telephone.
