There might be some stuff that I haven't mas- tered yet but art is progressive and it needs a positive mindset so of now I appreciate the progress that I've made so far and I can be positive about myself and firmly say am a professional artist. Q: . What do you love about drawing? A: I would say the replicating someone’s image on a paper and adding all sorts of details with just using a pencil. Q: You are pencil artist, how long have you been drawing and tell us is it something you got naturally good at or it's learned? A: I've been drawing for like a year and some months now. Till today I don't know how best i can an- swer that question. Its funny coz whenever people ask me if drawing is an inborn thing or I learned I pause for a bit and recall the moment when I started drawing. So I think the best answer would be I taught myself and throughout that process of teaching myself I learned how to draw. Q: Do you believe that your work is good enough to be set among work of other greats? A: Sometimes I ask myself what does it take to be a professional artist? One thing I've always been certain about is to stay pos- itive with what I do even when other peo- ple are doing beyond from what am doing. I consider myself as a professional artist, because even if I will reach a certain stage where I've always wanted to reach Eclipse Magazine PAGE 11

NEHEM INDAH BANDA FOUNDER AND DIRECTOR FOR THE ABODE COMMUNITES Eclipse Magazine
RELIGIOUS CORNER W e all have heard it over and over again that it is not EASY. Yes, but the hope is 100% and God’s grace is so sufficient to get us there. Growing up as a child there were certain standards set by both my community and family of what a child should be, and one of those was to please God, with that mentality I was so determined to please God in any way possible. Unfortunately that was just in my mind but when it came on the ground I was doing something contrary to my thoughts. Well, one day I realized that I was in the Journey of life that needed me to pay attention and learn. I found out that I had lost focus, my focus was supposed to be pleasing God but when I failed I was concentrating on my failures a lot than my goal. Yes, indeed sin is serious and incessant, but you don’t have to live in defeat. God’s love is not a license to sin. Grace without discipline can lead to disgrace. Psalms 118: 13-14 says; I was pushed hard, so that I was failing, but the Lord helped me. The Lord is my strength and my song; He has become my sal- vation and 2 Corinthians 4:8-10 says; we are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted but not abandoned; stuck down but not destroyed. We always carry around in our body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be revealed in our body. All my life I can tell stories about backsliding and rising up again. I have never lost hope even if my friends made fun out of me. We can’t stop falling until we stop standing, in God we are not promised a per- fect life but with God we are promised that he will be with us in every step of the way. Standing with God means falling with him too. It is better to fall with God than alone because he will lift you up . We can’t stop failing unless we are God . Let this encourage and uplift someone who has been fighting shame, someone who is afraid to rise again in Christian life because they are afraid of what happened and what people will say. Come on, it is for a man to error. My friend you can rise again and live that life full of awesomeness. One of my wish was to sit down with Jesus and listen to that par- able of the prodigal son, I want to know what happened after at least two years, because in my mind I see that son doing a right choice without being ashamed of the state he was in , but was rather welcomed to an extent that a party was thrown, God must love this son. This is the same things that surely happens to us when we go back to God after we mess up. We must have courage and be humble at the same time. One of my greatest quotes is by Nishan Panwar “peo- ple who fail the hardest, bounce back the highest”. Just because we fell one time doesn’t mean we can’t get up and let our light shine.
