Variations & adaptations

What are variations? Variations are any type of differences between cells, individual organisms, or groups of organisms of any species.

Types of variations: Genetic variation are those differences between Environmental Phenotypic variations happens when the individuals or populations. expression of genes changes in response to the environment. Variation caused by surroundings. GeneticExamples of: Ex: a plant in the shade will strive to PhenotypicExamples of: reach the sunlight & therefore it will have to grow taller. Eye color, blood type and being prone to diseases. Eye color as well, body type and hair color.

What are adaptations? Adaptations are characteristics that organism acquire over time with the purpose of improving their chances of survival and/or reproduction

Types of adaptations: Behavioral: Examples: Structural: What organisms do in Digestive enzymes to consume prey, Certain physical order to stay alive. formation of callouses, etc.. feature(s) that benefit the organism. Examples: Physiological: Examples: Hibernation, migration, playing dead, etc... Sharp claws, wings, webbed feet, etc.. These consist of body processes that helps the organism thrive.
