Festival Culture otherwise known as “Psy” Culture has evolved drastically evolved since the 60’s and 70’s when the phrase “peace, pot, and microdots” was born, when black light art became popular and rainbow gatherings began to be more accepted and popular. Tribal gatherings go back millenniums unbeknownst to most festival goers, a lot of roots originate from movements like the Brethren of the Free Spirit, from Pagan, Wiccan, and even Governmental Secret Societies like the Illuminati, Free Masons, and much more. The entertainment industry is simply one of the most ancient and revered throughout the world. Today Festival Culture and Decorations incorporate flashy effects, NEON lightings and colors for night owls.
The scene is advancing with internet and people like Timotije Markovic, Jivan Mukta, and many others have harnessed the power of the internet to the power of underground and industrial event organizers. Since 12.12.2012 research was conducted to survey existing and grounded organizers that mainly provide decorative services. The results were astonishing. Over 1,400 production crews were located and recruited, a central group was created and has generated over 27,000 members. Jivan Mutka began the group January 2013. The data collected took years and years to compile, after some time the information was divided by the producers home countries and posted to an archive websight which is updated regularly. The research of this culture and movement is fresh, therefore the need for expanding the intellectual criticisms and involvement was increasing. That prompted Timotije Markovic to begin an email campaign targeting hundreds of universities around the world. The arts and humanities departments as well as the cultural studies and general arts professors all
received emails in every university in western Europe to China to South America to North America. The information is valuable to a lot of interest groups, it is reliable information to survey the modern movement in a variety of ways for a variety of purposes. For Security Services and Historical Preservation agencies for Tourism networks to Event Organizers themselves (a lot of which do not create their own decorations, but hire and cater to a plethora of needs to make festival function properly and safely). Psy Culture in Southern Asian islands is growing quickly and spreading to China. Multiple organizers are located in Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, the Philippines. Some are already found in China which is of supreme interest in locating producers in the modern age as well as those in Middle Eastern countries some of which have been archived in regions such as United Arab of Emirates, and Israel.
The need for this research to be conducted now/constantly is crucial due to the understanding that countries may disable access to their internet, such as Russia in recent news, the possibility of their internet becoming like China. How that would impact the festival scene would be devastating particularly in Russia as many famous artists would be isolated from the whole scene and movement. The ultimate question is, how would psy culture be affected in the advent of internet infrastructure. Whatever the future of ever-increasing festival dynamics and architecture, culture, it will not be slowing down anytime soon for politics and some religions that come into conflict with the attributes of the modernization of societies and common culture. The mediums best applied are of luminescent types, which has been a prime interest of arts and cultural researcher Timotije Markovic. Altogether over 1,600 contributions to the archive makes the operation “Luminescent Art” the world’s largest and fastest
growing archive of world class arts and entertainment. The history of the arts is such a vast and deep array of varieties it can be traced to fire performances, ceremonies, Stained Glass from the Romansque era, Fire Work Shows from China and much more, for short... George Claude of Paris France was the inventor of Neon Signs in 1902 and Edmund Germer of Berlin Germany invented the first Florescent Lamp in 1926, 125 years after UV Lighting was discovered by Johann Ritter of Silesia Poland in 1801. In the 1930’s, “incidental inventor” Robert Switzer and his brother of Day-Glo Color Corporation discovered NEON paint mixing potions (from their fathers drug store) in the bath tub for their magic show, however UV colors have been used for centuries around the globe...
The art form seemed to climaxed in the 60’s and 70’s via Black Light Posters and Neon T-Shirts, then appeared to disappear ever since? Not a chance, psychedelic NEON art and stage decorations keeps evolving as well as our connections to the fluo/psy art realm thanks to people like Tim Berner who created the internet and Mark Zuckerberg who created Facebook. Psychedelic Decorations brings it together in a virtual and accessible time seal of festival arts and decorations.
