Nowadays, the best way of finding the perfect match is through one of the many dating apps currently available. There are plenty to choose from! So how are you to decide which is the right one for you? In this article, we’ll discuss the best five dating apps, to help you discover which is perfect for your profile, depending on what you are after. 21

Tinder Who hasn’t heard about Tinder? It might not be the oldest, but it’s without a doubt the most well-known dating app in the market. Though it has earned itself something of a reputation, this might not be entirely true. Surely, many of its users are interested in a quick hookup, but Tinder is responsible for many happy relationships and even successful weddings! All Tinder users must be 18 or older, and every profile includes a short bio as well of up to 6 different pictures. You can even set different preferences to choose what kinds of profiles are shown! This app displays the user’s picture, name, and age. Further information is available upon tapping on a profile. Now, if you don’t like what you are seeing, just swipe left! This deletes the user from your list. If you swipe right, however, you must wait for the other person to select you as well. If both swipe right… congratulations! You’ve got yourself a match! From that moment on, you can message them online and perhaps set up a date! There is a free version of this app, but it comes with limited daily swipes. Paying for the premium version allows you to swipe left and right to your heart’s desire! What’s great about Tinder is that, unless you tell the app -by swiping right- that you like someone, they won’t be able to contact you! 22

Match Match is the original dating app, and it’s still active more than 25 years after it was first created! It’s easy to use, and its interface is elegant and simple. You must sign in and include a few pictures, as well as answer standard questions that will dictate what kinds of profiles are suggested to you. Match.com sends its users’ personalized options every single day, and it usually matches your preferences to a tee. If you feel something isn’t right, you might want to consider changing your settings. Though there is a free version, it’s truly not as effective as the subscription account. It not only allows you to see who’s been checking your profile out but also provides you with a dating coach! And if you like someone, you can just send them a quick wink and see if magic is in the air! Or rather, the wifi waves! The website is translated into 15 different languages, while its app only offers 8 alternatives. If you are worried about the potential dangers of meeting a stranger, Match has you covered! It introduced the panic button in 2020, so users can call for help in emergencies. The app also validates profile pictures and reviews messages flagged as inappropriate. 23

Facebook dating With Facebook being one of the most influential social media alternatives online, it’s no wonder that this technological giant also dipped its toe in the dating pool. Though people have been sneakily using Facebook to get dates for a long time, it wasn’t until 2019 that this function became official. United States-based users can now complete a special profile and take advantage of Facebook’s sophisticated algorithm to find love! It’s necessary to have a Facebook account to sign up and be 18 or older. That being said, it’s kept separate from your usual profile, and only your name and age remains the same. You may personalize the rest of the information. The app will offer you matches according to your location, preferences and several other factors. It won’t show you your friends as matches, however. You can already flirt with them on the regular interface if you wish to! Facebook claims that this experience is far more dynamic than regular dating apps. You can block certain people from showing up on your searches or even seeing your profile, as well as avoiding getting connected with friends of friends. This allows you to date outside your inner circle and get to meet new people! If you belong to the LGTBQ+ community but haven’t publically come out to your friends and family yet, this is also a great option to keep your private life, private. 24

Raya Exclusivity has never been sexier. Raya is a members-only website, that not everyone is allowed to join. You can’t simply sign in and begin using the interface! After downloading the app, you must complete an application. But that’s not it! You can’t get in without the support of a current member! Your profile is first analyzed by Raya’s algorithm, before being evaluated by a committee. This process can take up to several months, so it won’t happen overnight! If you are approved, then the real fun beings… but it won’t be free! Membership will set you back $8 a month, or $30 for a 6-month-period subscription. The benefits of such exclusivity is that the available profiles to choose from are as highly scrutinized as your own. The options being offered are highly curated to your specific profile. What’s great about this app is that it features a strict code of conduct, so if anyone is rude or crosses a line, they’ll be forced to leave the community. That being said, it might end up being too much work for too few results, if you are unable to find the proper match within its limited subscribers. 25

Bumble Bumble may seem quite alike to Tinder, but there is a major difference. While in most dating apps, any of the interested parties may contact each other, in Bumble, it’s the lady’s choice. The woman must be the one to message the guy they matched with first. She has 24 hours to initiate a conversation. Same-sex matches don’t have such limitations. This allows women to feel less pressured by men being too aggressive on first contact. It also takes some pressure off the guy to make the first move. It might seem like a win-win situation, yet it might be slightly restrictive. It does have a cool feature, however. If you accidentally matched with someone you aren’t interested in, there’s a quick solution. Just shake your phone and consider yourself unmatched! Setting up a profile in Bumble is easy and quick. Another great feature is that it forbids users from uploading explicit pictures, making it a safe place for women who don’t want to be surprised by an unpleasant profile photo. If a guy is really interested in a match, he might request to extend the 24-hour response period to a 48-hour one. This gives the woman a wider window to decide whether she is interested in actually contacting her potential suitor. 26
