IDK’s 30th Anniversary: A message from our President On Friday October 27th, 1989, IDK was incorporated in Japan. Now in 2019, it’s with great pride that I am announcing our 30th anniversary. This is a significant milestone for our business and it gives us an opportunity to think back to our humble beginnings. Back to a time when we had only a few people on staff, in a very modest facility. We started out by developing several models of video distribution amplifiers and video adaptor cables. Over the years, we have expanded our capabilities, our solutions-portfolio and service-support to meet the needs of our customers. I wish to express my sincerest gratitude to each and every IDK customer who has supported us along the way. Together, we have watched as Pro AV shifted from analog video technology to digital video. Now we are all watching as the industry undergoes another significant transition towards IP-based solutions. This paradigm shift involves video, audio, control, and surveillance systems, as nearly everything we can think of, converges within the network domain. We’ve been successfully riding the new-technology wave by creating and providing state-of-the-art Pro AV products; such as, multi switchers, video converters, matrix switchers, and AV over IP systems. We, as a leading provider of high-quality solutions for the Pro AV industry, develop, manufacture and test all our products in our own facilities in Japan. With all operations fully in-house, we have the unique ability to add features and improve performance more quickly as technology advances and as needed to meet evolving user demands. Being vertically integrated, we can also preemptively manage supply chain challenges, while closely monitoring our product quality. As technology is continually being reshaped, we are stepping up our efforts at IDK and are committed to making the next big leap for the Pro AV industry. Product lineup & Topics IDK 4K UHD Solutions 4096 pixels 3840 pixels Overview 1920 pixels The full HD format pixel count is 2,073,600 (1920 x 1080) while 4K TV’s pixel count is 8,294,400 (3840 x 2160), or four times as many pixels as full HD. There are two 4K 4K UHDTV formats: 4K UHDTV (3840 x 2160 = 8,294,400 pixels) and DCI 4K (4096 x 2160 = 8,847,360 pixels). The former is mainly for TV broadcasting and while the latter is 3840 pixels × 2160 pixels mainly for cinema. The DCI 4K ratio was developed by The Digital Cinema Initiative. Digital Multi Switcher MSD-402 Digital Multi Switchers The MSD-402 is a high-performance digital multi switcher that provides four inputs and two outputs and has a built-in scan converter.
