All students must come in reg- ular school uniform for the same.  Result of literary fest is up- loaded on the portal Students of Dunes international School enthusiastically participated in the Hindi Day program organized by Abu Dhabi Indian Embassy on 15th September 2019. The purpose of the program was to promote and spread the greatness of Hindi Language.

Mud kitchens are amazing spaces for sparking children’s imagination. It takes a good deal of creative thinking to transform muddy creations into culinary delights. Dunes International school inaugurated new ‘Mud Kitchen’ it is to allow the children the freedom to play, explore and learn to their full extent in the mud kitchen it is really important that children are encouraged to feel the textures of the materials with their fingers, transfer liquids from one container to another to, splash, slop, stir and whizz to create sticky mud and explore its adaptations.

Spearheaded by British expat Barbara Evans, the ‘Knit-a-thon’ was an initiative by the UAE women aiming at breaking the Guinness World Record for the world’s largest blanket and setting an unprecedented record for the maximum knitted hearts to be dismantled and distributed to 3200 underprivileged children worldwide. Dunes International School contributed immensely to this noble cause at making the initiative of GUINNESS WORLD RECORD. The whole hearted contribution of the parents, children and the school staff were highly appreciated in making it happen.

Tajneed-the capsule learning moves is a Sheik Hamdan award winning voluntary train- ing organization for the ancillary staff. The middle school students of Dunes International School partnered with the Tajneed team to conduct wellness program on 16th September2019 that is aligned with the national agenda parameters promoting soft skills in bus monitors and drivers.

Reading Challenge “ Vouloir c’est pouvoir “ - The French expression says “ where there is a will there is a way”, Yes, our French students of Grade 6 to 8 proved that their will to succeed in this reading challenge could indeed be realized. By Participating, the students have taken another leap towards achieving proficiency and fluency in the language.

September month is dedicated to literary Fest in Dunes International School. Students of Grade 6-8 had extempore speech competition, they enthusiastically participated in the finals and show cast their confidence level by analyzing the topic and identification of the issue to be addressed. This competition extract the students who has the ability to think off the feet.







Robotics Computer Science Building our own robot has been a topic in our school for a long time now. The kids are abso- lutely fascinated with robotics. Students in- volved in assembling and programming of In- ventor kit in Robotics lab, which helped the students to get hands-on lessons that support them to achieve both curriculum goals and boost 21st century skills like creativity, critical thinking and problem-solving in a collabora- tive environment. Students are familiarized with advanced features of excel which includes functions, charting and data- bases in the computer lab. Along with that they got an overview of the Excel application with an orien- tation for accessing the excel commands.





Speaking Skill : A Formal Speech The students will be able to report their personal experience with a sense of audience, using body language and tone to communicate effectively. Grade 6 students were given a task to make a speech about the topic “Reality Vs Imagination”. They presented the topic confidently and clearly with suitable tone and expression. The activity helps to develop students’ overall fluency and requires them to consider how they speak as well as what they say. They also learnt about the physical messages that a speaker can knowingly convey to the audience through body language, eye contact, posture, voice inflection and gestures. Error correction - Activity The future editors - Doing error correction . It is the process of detecting errors in transmitted messages and reconstructing the original error free data . The students of grade 7-A had done the error correction activity in their class room . The aim is to teach students to correct their own mistakes. They did this activity in collaborative manner and enjoyed the learning.

Arabic-Why Reading is Important? Students of grade 8 exhibited their understanding through poster making on why reading is im- portant in their lives and presented in front of the class. Through this activity students enhanced their Speaking skills in Arabic language, and understood that reading and speaking goes hand in hand.

Subject: Science Students were shown the body features of various animals that help them to move around. They are very excited to know that most of the animals move by the contraction and relaxation of the muscles. Students also explained the importance of movement in animals. Animals show various types of movements. They run, walk, jump, hop, slither, swim or fly. Moving body gets their heart beating and blood flowing. By increasing blood flow, exercise helps nourish skin cells and keep them vital. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to working cells throughout the body, including the skin.

Subject: Science Students of grade 7 were involved in self assessment by Q & A match up strategy for assessing their understanding of respiration in humans. This question and answer strategy helps students engagement and it is a great way to review or reinforce certain concepts of lesson. It inspires them to think and work cooperatively while challenging them to use a higher level thinking skills. CHEMISTRY : Students did an experiment to study the structure of flame and analyzed the nature of flame produced by various combustible substances. They related the quality of flame with the source. They realized that complete combustion produces blue flame without ash, while incomplete combustion releases unburnt carbon in the form of ash. They realized the importance of LPG as cooking gas. They under- stood the importance of oxygen in combustion.

Subject: Social Studies Flip Teaching: A flipped classroom is an instructional strategy and a type of blended learning that reverses the traditional learning environment by delivering instructional content, often online, outside of the classroom. Grade 6 students did flip teaching on the topic Indus valley civilization. They prepared the lessons through research method and presented in the class. Each group chosen their own way to present. Through this learning method students learned about the features of Indus valley civilization, their town planning social life of the people. Through this learning process they also compare the life of Indus people with present life. Grade 7 students did project-based learning on the topic ‘Women changes the world”. Through this pro- ject students selected a well known women who fought against women empowerment in the present world. Each student did the research work and collected the information and prepared the project. Through this activity students learned about Empowerment of women is a necessity for the very develop- ment of a society, since it enhances both the quality and the quantity of human resources available for de- velopment. Empowerment is one of the main procedural concerns when addressing human rights and de- velopment.

Subject: Social Studies PowerPoint presentation Topic: social and economic life of people in Indus valley Civilization. The students had prepared a PowerPoint presentation on the above topic and presented it to the class. This activity motivated them to present their creative ideas and research work to the class which helped them to speak confidently.
