DUNES INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL Volume 6,Issue 4 ACADEMIC SESSION 2019-2020 24-28 Nov,2019 Sneak Peak GLIMPSE OF THE MAJOR EVENTS Reminder  Preboard-1 will commence from 4th December ,2019. .  Winter vacation for students will start from 12th ,2019 onwards and the school will reopen on 5th January.  All students will disperse at 12 noon during the exam days.  It is mandatory for all students to wear ID cards everyday to school. National Day brings with it great memories of this great nation and a reminder of His Highness Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s enormous efforts of making this day a trailblazing in the history of UAE. The 48th UAE National Day celebrations at Dunes International School paved an amazing learning path for the students as a it included on multi-aspects of UAE; its history, cultures, tradition, achievements and future endeavors. The school assemblies touched upon each of the aforemen- tioned aspects. Students draped in UAE colors enjoyed this noetic day at school. The school wishes everyone around the world a very happy 48th UAE National Day.

Assembly on Cooperation Grade 11A and G together conducted the morning assembly on the 24th Nov, 2019 in the school’s auditorium. The assembly as its norm started with blessings of God followed by fitness and hearth session. The news recording made everyone aware of the happenings around the world. The special program comprised of a skit performance by grade 11G throwing light on co- operation had everyone introspect. A special Yola Dance act by Grade 11A students triggered in everyone the fervor of UAE National Day. Counsellor conducted a short session on anti-bullying and how bullying can affect us both physically and mentally. The students took an oath promis- ing not to bully and report any bullying related incidents.

AnStip—orbtsuslelliencgtion Bullying exists in many forms, including physical aggression, name-calling and spreading rumors. Preventing and stopping bullying involves a commitment to creating a safe environment where children can thrive, socially and academically, without being afraid. There are prevention programs and school-based interventions to address bullying behaviors. These programs were conducted by school counsellor during anti bullying awareness program.

\"Tajneed- The capsule Learning Moves The Tajneed leadership team of Dunes conducted a presentation on the Topic ‘Tolerance at Work place’ to the bus monitors. The goal of this activity was to create an awareness about the importance of tolerance and cooperation at work place. After the presentation, the team was divided into two groups and ‘dog and the bone game’ was conducted which developed concentration and cooperation. It developed togetherness by encouraging collaboration and teamwork. The participants had lot of fun and learnt the skills of team spirit, cooperation and motivation. Tajneed team thanked the bus monitors for their collective efforts in taking care of the children.

Trip to Louvre Museum The French students of Dunes international school participated in the organized tour to the Louvre Museum, Abu Dhabi and enjoyed it at its maximum. Students from Grade 5 to Grade 9 participated in this trip on 20th November 2019. Students were amused to see the amazing art classics paintings of VAN GOGH in the massive beautiful architecture. They also were able to see the portrait of Vincent Van Gogh, paintings of Leonardo da Vin- ci, Pablo Picasso's Portrait of a Woman and many more. The students rejoiced the amaz- ing artefacts, the presentation and everything that this museum offers to the region in- cluding the beauty of the building itself.

Fire drill School conducted a fire drill on 27th November .The purpose of fire drills in school is to ensure that everyone knows how to exit safely as quickly as possible if a fire, smoke, carbon monoxide or other emergency occurs.

Animation video making competition Animation, while often thought of as a more or less modern medium, has been being used in different forms since 1906! Throughout the last century, we have used it to entertain, as propaganda, and to tell stories that invoke emotion. Animated videos have become one of the most powerful tools for your mar- keting endeavors. Their power lies in the fact that they can tell the story of your product, in just a matter of few seconds, and in a fun and engaging way! Students from grade 6 to 12 participated in animated video making competition and prepared enormous creative video.

Economics Students of Grade 11 are preforming an activity on the importance of small-scale industries in India. They explained the significance of small-scale industries in the economic development of the country and identifying the major small-scale industries of India. Business studies Students of grade12 prepared investigatory project on the analysis of economic environment and its various components. They discussed various aspects of the economic environment of India through a presentation. Accountancy Students analyzed the problem and calculated the depreciation charged on the asset. They explain the effect of the depreciation charged on the profit & loss a/c and balance sheet.

Chemistry Mock exams significantly improves the confidence, time management and the scope of familiarization with the question paper prior to the main exams. Grade 12 students appeared for a mock practical exam which will enable them to approach their CBSE board practical exam confidently and successfully. Biology Grade 12 students appeared for a mock practical exam to enable them to approach their CBSE board practical exam confidently . It will improve their confidence and will enable them to learn time management. Psychology Self -concept is a key psychological concept which is generally thought of as our individual perceptions of our behavior, abilities, and unique characteristics. With this objective in sight, Grade 12 psychology students administered a SELF CONCEPT QUESTIONNNAIRE on Grade 10 students to find out how well the student know themselves.
