Then we have selected, for your weekend and special occasion enjoyment, award winning wines from Chateau Méric situated in the Médoc, in the northern region of Bordeaux.And as we all like some bubbles we are delighted to offer you a scrumptious Prosecco from Villa Granda in the Veneto region of North Eastern Italy. Chartron la Fleur blanc Members £6.05 RRP £9.50 Our opinion It is a very pure typical Sauvignon (100%) the white grape variety of Bordeaux. The wine is very pleasant, dry and fresh, to be enjoyed at any moment. Food and wine pairing Delicious as an aperitif, with fish, sea-food or cold meats Guides and medals Yellow straw coloured, very pale, it’s a clear and bright wine. On the nose, it is nicely aromatic, both floral and fruity. Direct and lively attack, giving a fresh and savoury wine. (Guide Machete 2012) According to Vivino the average price for this wine is £8.98 The cheapest that we could find it through WineSearcher was £9.50 when bought by the case of 6. As we buy it direct from the vineyard for £2.22*, and we only add Duty £2.16 Shipping & Currency £0.60 and then VAT@20% £1.07 that we incur, to members this fantastic Bordeaux would only cost £6.05. Chartron la Fleur Rouge Members £6.05 RRP £9.50 Our opinion A good balance between the two grape varieties, merlot and cabernet, a generous soil and a favourable climate, are the main ingredients in this smooth and pleasant wine. Food and wine pairing Delicious on its own or with starters, light meat, or red meat Guides and medals The colour is ruby and limpid. The nose is fruity and fresh. In the mouth, it is velvety and round, with a good balance between tannins and acidity. 2012 Received Silver Medal by Terre de Vins magazine, 2010 obtained 88-100 in The Wine Enthusiast According to Vivino the average price for this wine is £9.49 The cheapest that we could find it through WineSearcher was £9.50 when brought by the case of 6. Chateau Méric La Rose de Meric (2015) Members £10.68 RRP £18.35 Our opinion La Rose de Meric is an outstanding wine from Chateau Meric - an excellent addition to the vineyard’s range. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature of 18°C to preserve the freshness of the flavours. The work of the lees saves in fat and sweetness. Malolactic fermentation is not required for this type of wine, to preserve the freshness and crunchiness of the fruit. The bottling is very early, early in the following spring. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Alc. 12.5% Food and wine pairing La Rose de Meric can be enjoyed with White meat, grilled dishes, barbecues or simply on its own. Guides The colour has a slight pinkish tint and very bright. The nose is very open, expressive, with notes of exotic fruits. As this is a new product we can not find any price comparisons however the recommended retail price for this wine would be a staggering £18.35. Chateau Méric AOP Medoc Cru Bourgeois (2014) Members £11.93 RRP £19.95Our opinionThe team at Chateau Meric developed thissplendid black merlot where ripe fruit aromasmingle. Aged for 18 months in French oak.The beautiful structure of the CabernetSauvignon grape combined with thefreshness of Petit Verdot grape.52% Cabernet Sauvignon 34% Merlot and14% Petit Verdot.Alc 13%Food and wine pairingDelicious with all red meat dishes andCheese.Guides and medalsPurple colour with violet reflections has neverbeen more intense. The aromas are lightlytoasted and have great fruit concentration,supported by a nice freshness. The palate isjuicy and silky. It persists with aromas of darkberries and ends wrapped in tannins.Chateau Meric Medoc consistently receiveGold and Silver medals This wine can beappreciated today and will evolve favourablyover the next 12 years.According to Vivino the average price for thiswine is £19.95. Chateau Méric 1868 (2012) Members £15.44 RRP £24.65 Our opinion The Chateau Méric «1868» du Plantier is a selection of the slept off head of vintage 2012 Chateau Méric. Wood is taken from the vat (during fermentation and maceration) and is then aged for 24 months in half a hogshead of 400 liters. The rigour of the growing, the terroir of gravels, an ideal exhibition and ageing in french oak were used to develop this splendid wine that combines the aromas of ripe fruit of “black merlot” associated with the freshness of “Petit verdot”.The beautiful late autumn of 2012 vintage allowed the grapes to reach full maturity with beautiful colours. The result is a superb concentration and excellent conservation in time. Alc. 12.5% Presented by the case of 6 bottles. Food and wine pairing This is an all rounder and perfect with game. this wine is appreciated today and will evolve favourably over the next 12 years. Guides On the palate, this wine is rich and smooth with very rounded tannins and a velvety texture. With great concentration, elegance also reveals a lovely freshness. As this is a new product we can not find any price comparisons however the recommended retail price for this wine would be £24.65. Le Plantier de Chateau Méric (2012) Members £17.76 RRP £29.95 Our opinion The Cuvee de Plantier is the quintessential wine of Chateau Meric with excellent conservation in time and ever more expressive with this 2012 vintage. The rigour of the growing in the high gravel content soil and the 30 month ageing in French oak have combined to develop this superb wine with the aromas of ripe fruit Black Merlot and the associated freshness of Petit Verdot.A blend of Black Merlot grape and Petit Verdot grape. Alc 12.5% Presented in a wooden case of 6 bottles. Food and wine pairing Cuvee de Plantier can be enjoyed with red meat dishes, fleshy fish dishes, duck confit (roast duck) and cheeses. Guides and medals The deep red colour with crushed cherry reflections has a beautiful shine. The nose is very aromatic, it opens on notes of red berries, sweet spices and toasted oak. On the palate, this wine is rich and smooth with very rounded tannins and a velvety texture. The finish is sleek, length is gorgeous and extremely refined, promising a smooth finish. Chateau Meric Medoc consistently receive Gold and Silver medals. This wine is appreciated today and will evolve favourably over the next 15 years According to Vivino the average price for this wine is £29.95. The cheapest that we could find it through WineSearcher was also £29.95 when brought by the case of 6. Villa Granda - Extra dry Prosecco DOC Millesimanto Members £6.66 RRP £11.75 Our opinion Villa Granda boasts elegant wines for those who choose quality for everyday consumption. We have selected this Extra Dry Prosecco from their sparkling wines range as it ticks all the boxes, to meet your every need. Food and wine pairing Ideal as aperitif with delicious canapés, it also pleasantly combines with bitter- sweet and ethnic cuisine. Guides and medals Prosecco Doc Millesimanto extra dry Villa Granda, is a fresh and ever so slightly sweet sparkling wine, with a delicate scent of white flowers. According to Vivino the average price for this wine is £7.47 (across Europe) The cheapest that we could find it through WineSearcher was their rosé £14.99 when brought by the case of 6.
