CHAPTER-15 Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science is adopting various methods and modes for skilling both the students and staff of the department to excel in academics and for overall development of students. We are giving additional training on recent trends and technology to the students to make them industry ready via FDPs, Workshops, Project Development, conferences, seminars and industrial visits. Department is opening new avenues for the students and staff to achieve their goals by providing innovative and extensive training. Brief glimpses of achievements are mentioned below: 1. In house Summer Internship of Web Development for all students 2. Industrial Visit of III Semester students to RCAT to enhance Industry Institute Interaction 3. International Conference: Information Management & Machine Intelligence (ICIMMI 2022) 4. Five days Industrial Workshop on “DevOps Virtualization for all students 5. One Week Skill Development Program on “Hands-on Practice on C” for III Semester students. 6. One Week Skill Development Program on “Office Tools” for staff. 7. Three Days Hands on Workshop on “Ethical hacking and Cyber Security” for all students 8. Workshop on “Python with DevOps” for III Semester students 9. Wide range of Projects are Developed by students of III & V semester under Non-Syllabus Projects and by students of VII Semester in Project Lab 10. Faculty is excelling both in academics and research by conducting FDPs and participating in FDPs, Conferences, Workshops and Patent publication 15.1 Achievements: 1. 15.2 Challenges: - We have faced following challenges during this session: 1. Level of projects by final year students need to be upgraded as per the market demand, so Artificial Intelligence, Machine learning and Blockchain based Projects have been introduced. 2. Experiment Performance in Laboratories. 3. Class attendance is a major area of concern. 15.3 Learning from Previous Session: - During the journey of odd semester of session 2022-23, we have conceived various learning to elevate the department in academics and non academics plane: 1. Working in team and proper utilization of resources for optimal results. 2. Innovative techniques and platforms are recognised for understanding and performing practical experiments for faculty members to understand the subject more specifically which in turn is good for the students too. 3. Documentation quality is enhanced with increased use of technology to make hustle free and efficient working. 4. Department is using innovative, more constructive and more fruitful techniques to meet the goals by conducting technical workshops such as Python, Machine learning, PHP, HTML and Flask. 5. From previous session of final year projects, we have learnt that students need more time on implementation and topics chosen need to be based on latest technology and meeting sustainable goals. Thus, we have implemented AGILE Methodology for project development 6. Faculty development program were conducted in association with Industry, AICTE and TEQIP International conference is organized to provide research platform. 15.4 Proposals for the Upcoming Session: - 1. Special briefing, Mock sessions and placement related activities for VI and VIII semester students by experts for improving the placements. 2. Faculty development Programs for skilling the working staff with recent trends in technology & market. 3. NPTEL and Swayam online courses training will be conducted for students and Faculty members. 4. Special workshops of Python Programming, Machine learning, Mobile Application Development and Deep Learning will be conducted for II- and III-year student 5. Practical hands on of Java, C++ is to be conducted for II-year student 7. Tie up with good software development companies to provide students extra edge exposure 8. Scenario based experiments will be performed in each lab session. 9. More use of Git Hub, Google Collab and cloud based working for Image processing, Machine Learning and Python lab. 10. Staff and students will be encouraged for start-ups, research and patents. 153
