Contraction Don’t talk like a “book,” talk like a friend.

Need of contractions:  Contractions are an important part of English speech and English grammar.  Contractions make words smaller, which makes them easier and faster to say.

What is contraction? Shorten a word by omitting one or more letters from it. The word so formed is called a contraction. Apostrophe(‘) will be added.

Apostrophe has two uses 1. Shorter the words (Contraction) Eg. It’s my bag. – it is 2. Belongs to someone (Possession) Eg. My mom’s car is green.
