The match was played on August 10, 2018, at the NPR College Ground in Dindigul. Madurai Panthers Team Captain Rohit Damodaran After winning the toss, the Panthers decided to bowl first and restricted the Kings to a modest total of 125/7 in their allotted 20 overs. Antony Dhas top-scored for the Kings with 38 runs, but he didn't get enough support from his teammates. The Panthers bowlers were disciplined and didn't allow the Kings' batsmen to score freely.
