WELCOME TO 2023 CAMP KADIMA Camp Kadima is OUT OF THIS WORLD! Every day campers will illuminate our galaxy with their skills, talents, leadership and growth. Flagpole and special events will be inspired by all things out of this world. Join us as we blast off into an amazing summer! Voted best summer camp in Broward County by Broward Family Life magazine four years in a row. For over 40 summers, the professional staff at our award-winning Camp Kadima has provided a supervised and safe environment, allowing every camper, regardless of faith or race, to be enriched through our age-appropriate programming. Campers start every morning enjoying music, singing, cheering and dancing. Campers and counselors are split into two teams - #TeamMike and #TeamDale. Teams compete in daily challenges throughout the summer with one team being crowned flagpole champion. Mike and Dale bring energy and create a unique experience for every camper making our flagpole one of a kind. Flagpole helps get the campers and counselors in the camp spirit and is a centerpiece of Camp Kadima culture.
VARIETY CAMPS JSprouts For Children Ages 2 Years* - 4 Years • In JSprouts our youngest campers swim, go to the splash pad, paint, craft, cook, experiment, play outside, do yoga, sing, dance and have Friday Shabbat. • Special events include in-house entertainment, petting zoos, magic shows, puppet shows and more! * Must be 2 years old by June 1, 2023 JKids For Children Entering K • All JKids campers enjoy in-house entertainment, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special events, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. • Our program provides an exciting transition from preschool to kindergarten. JKids is housed in the upper camp facilities. Adventure Grades 1-5 • Adventure camp is the classic camp experience where children participate in a variety of activities including sports, swimming and the arts. • All campers enjoy weekly field trips, in-house entertainment, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special projects, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. • Campers are grouped according to the grade they will enter in the fall; however, grades may be combined. TEEN CAMPS Extreme Grades 6-8 • All campers enjoy field trips, in-house entertainment, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special events, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. • Campers are grouped according to the grade they will enter in the fall; however, grades may be combined. Leaders-in-Training (LIT) Grade 9 • LIT is the first level in the transition from camper to counselor. • These teens work side-by-side with camp staff and specialists, training to be future leaders. • Training includes junior first aid, CPR and junior water safety. • All campers enjoy field trips, in-house entertainment, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special events, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project.
PREMIER CAMPS All Premier Camps have limited space and fill up quickly so please register early! Kindergarten Boot Camp For Children Entering K This camp is professionally designed to give your Pre-K graduate the necessary academic tools to succeed in kindergarten. Boot Camp will focus on emergent reading, math and handwriting skills. Typical Camp Kadima activities such as swimming, sports and arts are part of the camp day. • All campers enjoy in-house entertainment, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special events, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. JGirls Grades 1-5 • Our campers receive a well-rounded camp experience that focuses on dancing, arts, field trips, in-house entertainment and special events, including Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. JTech Grades 2-5 JTech introduces campers to the amazing world of discovery through science and technology. Campers gain problem solving, critical thinking, and STEM skills in a fun and inspiring way. • All campers enjoy in-house entertainment, field trips, Color War (Maccabiah), Songfest (Zimriah), special events, water days, game shows and a camp-wide mitzvah project. Inside Out Theatre @ the J Grades 3-8 Session l 5 wks (6/12-7/14) Grades 3-8 Willy Wonka Jr. Session ll 2 wks (7/24-8/4) Grades 3-8 Broadway Revue An exciting and fun musical theater experience directed by Robin Braun and Inside Out Theatre. • Campers must be enrolled for the consecutive 5-week session for Session I (Weeks 1-5) • A new Color War week 6 option between sessions for theater campers only; campers must be enrolled in theater camp Session I or II, to qualify. • Campers must be enrolled for the consecutive 2-week session for Session II (Weeks 7-8) Performances will be at the end of each session. JSPORTS Grades K-6 JSPORTS HAS 3 DIVISIONS: Academy (Grades K-1) JV (Grades 2-3) Varsity (Grades 4-6) JSports • Young athletes will learn a variety of sports including basketball, soccer, baseball, tennis, flag football and volleyball. • Daily activities focus on sport-specific fundamentals. • Field trips and special events including Color War (Maccabiah) and Songfest (Zimriah) are also part of camp. Important Notes about Academy Division: • Kindergarten campers in Academy will have in-house entertainment in lieu of field trips. • Grade 1 campers in Academy will join Adventure Grade 1 campers for field trips. Ben & Dorothy Spencer GIBORIMSpecial Services Division BAegne&s D3o-2ro2t+hy Spencer Special Services Division Ages 3-22+ years Giborim, which means heroes in Hebrew, is a program designed for children, teens and adults with developmental disabilities. • Campers participate in all activities, special events and field trips. • New campers must have an intake interview. The DPJCC cannot provide one-on-one supervision. Continuous aggressive behaviors may result in dismissal of the camper from the program. • Inclusion: A limited number of campers are included in the general camp. An intake with the Camp Director is required to determine the ability to meet the child’s needs. • Campers ages 3, 4 and 5 do not go on field trips and require an 8-week commitment.
