WHO ARE OUR LIFE AND LEGACY DONORS? • They are people just like you. • They are generous and community-minded. • They want to ensure that future generations enjoy a vibrant and thriving J. • They are committed to Jewish values. • They want to make a difference. Monique and Michael Shafir My earliest memories of Jewish Community are of the Soref JCC in Plantation. Throughout my childhood, the JCC was my summer home as a camper from kindergarten through my early college years as a senior counselor at this David Posnack JCC. Memories of camp shabbat and song sessions and Color War are always fresh in my mind. There was always something special about the J. When Michael and I had children, our first re-entry into the local Jewish community would be the JCC, no question. We signed up our eldest, Betsy, for Camp Kadima at just 3 years old. We just couldn't wait to pass down those same memories. Immediately I became involved in the family engagement and camp committees and dabbled in the cultural arts groups as well. When our second child, Penny, was in pre-K3 we signed up for the Singer Early Child- hood Center here at the DPJCC, as this place had already become a second home to our children through family programming. I now have the honor of serving on the Board of the David Posnack JCC as an executive-at-large, where I am helping to shape the future of this special place. This is why Michael and I are leaving a Life & Legacy gift. We hope to continue shaping the future here for years and years to come. The J has truly become our center, our community, and those connections and feelings are essential to pass on for generations to come.
