Toga . .. Toga!!!! ''The Image'' Back in ancient Greece when men were wearing sheets and leaves, there lived far removed relatives of the toga club here at Hillcrest. The toga club is famous for displaying high levels of en- thusiasm for all sports in general. They give spice to the games and help get everyone hyped up as much as possi- ble . People in the picture should be credited for their appearance . To Left: Chris Bagley. Tony Dellagnola. Robbie Alldredge. Rick Huffake. and Bill Boggs. Bottom left: Davis. Tami Olsen. Kim Kel- ler. and Dave Johnson ... thank you . Kristen Keller. a member of toga stat- ed. \"We reorganized toga this year to keep the tradition going. We hope to keep it clean. Oh, and by the way, not all of toga is pictured here.\" Book Store The Krib Crew Talk about your awesome group of people . If you went to the bookstore you were sure to find plenty of them . Starting from those who worked there. to the people who went to buy all the neat and different things they had in stock. If you went anywhere else things would be priced sky high but not at the Krib. Your satisfaction was their concern! When you approach the store you would be greeted by Sand. Goo. Rico, Garebear. or Lou. and a new addition to the crew was Missy. The hand be- hind the whole organization was TEACHER. Or Mrs. Thomas. And a s Ralf Rico would proudly repeat \"Come chill with us at the Krib, where the people are rad and the goods are fresh!\" Al- though next year. the name mig ht change. it will always be the Krib to those of us who aren't coming back . Against Odds S.I.C.K. Disease. poverty, hunger. and igno- rance . Maybe this is why the S.I.C.K. club was formed . The Social Issues Concerning Kids helps challenge stu- dents realize and understand problems around us. The students are the good Samaritans of our school. Mr. Hansey makes this club fun by getting excited about the projects. This club benefits not only the students but everyone in the community.

Expressions ''Excellence'' There is an elite group of students here at Hillcrest, who every year put together creative literature, art and photography, then pull it together into a terrific maga- zine . Who is this group? The Expressions staff of course . The advisor is Mrs. Milne, and the editors are, Valeri Briggs, Gina Cook, and Doug Cunningham. Together, along with the rest of the staff, put to- gether one of the best high school literary magazines in the state of Utah. The staff meets during third period, and for the first semester and are involved in a creative writing class where they write poems, stories etc . Second semester they become the Expressions Staff. and for the rest of the year, work on writing and putting the literary magazine to- gether. The Expressions magazine was honored by the American Scholastic Press Association and received first place with a special Merit Award in 1986 & 87 and they received a Superior for the 1987 publication for State. Great job Expres- sions staff. Sentry Staff ''Extra! Extra! The 1987-1988 Hillcrest Sentry Staff is responsible for investigating, reporting and writing events in the school newspa- per. Said Mrs. Beck, Hillcrest Sentry advisor. \"The Sentry is a journalism watchdog .\" The staff consists of fourteen energetic reporters. two photographers. and a car- toonist . The Sentry staff is working extra hard this year in order to defend their Best 4A State Newspaper title . Said Editor-in- Chief. Wendy Heaps. \"We hope to re- peat out last year's performance in state competition.\" The Sentry staff has also attempted to cover interesting. controversial issues that will make the studentbody think. ac- cording to Beck . They promote school pride and their most impor- tant role is to be a good example to the studentbody . This year. as one of their service projects. they worked with the city-county health department to carry out a seatbelt campaign . To accomplish this task they had students pledge that they would wear their seatbelt. Once a week Senior Pride members would check to see who was using their seatbelts while driving. Those wear- ing a seatbelt would receive a prize . The main purpose of this project was to increase the number of peo- ple wearing their seetbelts. It was a very successful project. In helping out the community, they invited the KSL personalities to play against the faculty in a basketball game. The profit goes towards a charitable cause or to help out the school. To promote school pride they orga- nized the first annual \"Senior Clas- sic.\" This is when the faculty and some seniors play in a basketball game. This year the seniors won and got to keep the traveling trophy in the student display case. Each year there will be a plaque on the trophy stating the winning team. Tradition is part of the objective for Senior Pride. Throughout the years it has always been a tradition for Senior Pride to clear the senior bench and senior section . This is a tradition that the underclassmen look forward to when they are seniors. As you can see Senior Pride is more than just a bunch of super jocks. \"I'm proud to be a part of the 88' Senior Pride be- cause we have made many ac- complishments to contribute to the class of our school, instead of just being another group of jocks,\" ad- ded Sean Clark . ~~~~~~------------~ 51
