During the season an injury forced Nelson's doctor to suggest he quit, but Chris never gave Varsity up and played hard all eason. Basketball Get Down! Greg Black got down to defend Jordan's point guard. \"We lost this home game inasqueaker,\" largetts said, \"Greg is a dedicated player, he was the most improved player on the team. During the entire season he fought blisters on his feet. This didn't stop Greg fro m being the best he could. He gave 11O%! Hillcrest ended the regular season in a three way tie for 4th place with Alta and Orem. In order to enter the state tournament they had to beat both of them. They won the first game against Orem, but it took 4 overtimes to do it. Next they beat Alta to make it to the state playoffs. How- ever, when the Bengals came here, the Sophomores beat them for their only regular season victory, 58-37 . Steve Sorensen had the highest percentage for three pointers. Steve was also the cause of the only technical foul the coach received all season when Steve was fouled and the coach yelled at the referee. Most of the Sophomores suited up for the JV games because the JV team had only five players, two of which were injured. The team entered a unique season this year by participating in the first-ever Battle of the Board. We lost to Brighton, 54-37, but were able to add a new tradition to the future of HHS girl's basketball. Men's Track 149 ~ Jeremy Parker kept up the pace with his opponents from Mountain View and Timpanogas. This was a three school track meet consisting of Hillcrest, Mountain View, and Timpanogas, held at Mountain View. In this meet, Hillcrest defeated Timpanogos, but fell short to Mountain View.
