This year we unpleasantly experienced the renovation of the parking lot. At the beginningofschool, the parking lot was not completly finished and the opening onto Husky Highway was closed. Nter the top entrance was finally opened, the fork in the road at 9th east and 7th east was perma- nently closed. This made traffic in the morning very heavy, and trying to get into the school was a joke. If you weren't to school by 7: 10 a.m. then you could expect a 10-15 minute wait, especially in the left turn lane. The lanes were sometimes backed up down to just above where 7th east was closed off. As for getting out of the school, well, lets just say you couldn't. It's always been a challenge, but now it became even worse. Even though there are two exits, they both exit from the same side of the school,so one exit continually jams up the other, depending upon who gets started first. On the bright side, parking spaces were easier to find. Straight parking lines were made instead of slanted ones, and the lines faced the opposite direction. The driver's ed. range was moved and lines for parking were put over the driving lines. (You just had to be sure to get you car out of the ranges before it got ticketed at 2:35.) In addition they added a new parking lot just to the west of the Seminary building. De- spite these changes, however, sophomores still were not allowed to drive to school. Speed \"trenches\" were added, which made traffic slow down even more. No matter how slow you went over these dips either the bottom of your car scrapes the The construction of the new road joining 9th east and 7th The new pa rking lot was quite a change for the pavement, or your head hits the roof of east was scheduled to be fini shed in mid October.
