Once upon a time, there lived two oxen brothers on a farm. The older ox was known as Nachu and the younger one Kachu. At the same farm, there lived a fat and lazy pig.

The owner of the farm fed the pig so well, as he was provided with delicious and healthy meals every day, unlike the two oxen.

The two oxen were made to work so hard, pulling plows and wagons all day.

One day Kachu complained to Nachu, “My big brother, we do all the hard work but they feed us only hay and grass. The pig does nothing yet he is given the yummiest food. Why should he get such a special treatment?”

Nachu replied, “My little brother, it is not good to feel jealous. Do not envy the pig for being fed with delicious meals”. Kachu exclaimed, “But why? I think we deserve to be treated well, not him!”

The wise elder brother said, “Soon, there will be a marriage ceremony for the daughter of our master”. “The pig will be the wedding feast!” He continued, “That is why he is pampered and fed with scrumptious foods”.

After few days, the wedding ceremony began and many people were gathered for the celebration. The huge pig was dragged away and killed mercilessly. He was cooked into various types of cuisines.

The big brother asked, “My dear brother, did you see what happened with the pig?” “Yes, brother,” replied Kachu, “Now I understand.”

Kachu realized that it was better to eat simple food and live longer than to enjoy delicious food for a short period and to be slaughtered later. Moral: Do not envy the well-off until you know the price they pay.
