Mary Kom Activity Book

I am Mary Kom. I am from the Kom tribe of Manipur. My father is a farmer. He is also the person who inspired me to take up boxing.





When I was 15 I moved to Imphal and met my coach K. Konsa Meitei. Initially, my parents did not like that I wanted to become a boxer because it was a boy’s sport, but I proved them wrong by winning my first medal for them in 2000.









My career came to a pause when I got married. I had children and led a happy married life. But life did not stop there, I participated in more boxing competitions and finally achieved my dream of winning a medal in the Olympics for my country. I believe in simple living and healthy eating lifestyle.
